Loading...Is Perry’s Abortion “Conversion” A Ploy For A Huckabee Endorsement?
Have the scales fallen from Texas Governor Rick Perry’s eyes, and does he finally see the light? Perry has announced a total conversion from being against abortion in almost all cases to being against abortion in absolutely all cases, believing now that the life of the fetus far outweighs any physical or emotional damage it may cause to the woman or girl carrying it.
So what brought on this conversion to utterly anti-choice, and why is it so well timed? Well, it just so happens, Perry saw a video that changed his mind.
At former Governor Mike Huckabee’s debate.
“You’re seeing a transformation,” Perry said in response to a voter’s question about his changed stance at a townhall in Iowa. “That transformation was after watching the DVD Gift of Life, and I really started giving some thought about the issue of rape and incest, and some powerful stories in that DVD.”
Yes, it was watching the video that Huckabee has been promoting that suddenly changed Perry and brought him into the fold of the most rigid of anti-abortion activists. But is this a true conversion?
Huckabee, who won the 2008 Iowa caucus, is a key figure in the GOP party and one who could sway the entire race, especially in the state of Iowa, if he should ever decide to endorse a candidate. Huckabee has been purposefully on the sidelines, refusing to show preference to one social conservative candidate over another. Still, it wouldn’t be surprising for Perry to believe that a strong plug for Huckabee’s “life-changing” video could woo the former governor to his side, or at least hook their names together in what is likely to be one of the final media cycles before Iowans cast their votes.
Is it a ploy, or a true conversion? In politics, you never know.

+ add your ownIt doesn't matter how much they waffle on the issue of choice, if the candidate is anti-choice in ANY way, shape or form, they are NOT getting my vote.
Needless to say, that rules out the GOP/TP candidates. I always have been and always will be a Democrat.

LLOYD H, I've had female pro-life friends who have kids. They've done the kid thing two, three times. Why not ask a pro-life lady with kids? Better yet read this. She not only delivered the rapist baby she kept it and raises it.

The Tea Party Republicans are loaded with people, who are waiting for the highest bidder.
Well duh it's about getting votes. If the Republican base this year were all fired up about waffles, you'd see Perry haunting Waffle Houses night and day, and buying stock in Eggo.
Sometimes I wish I could be just as petty and hateful so I could inflict the same things Perry and people like him hatefully inflict on others.

Most of the time the woman is barely harmed by the pregnancy but the fetus is usually killed by the abortion, if not severely disabled by a do-it-yourself attempt (which might also severely disable or kill mama too).
90% of the time abortion means trespassers will be annihilated.
