Celebration For The Turkeys (VIDEO)

Celebration For The Turkeys (VIDEO)

Every year over 45 million turkeys are raised and slaughtered for the Thanksgiving holiday alone.

And every year, Farm Sanctuary hosts a special event where they treat their rescued turkeys to a festive feast of squash, pumpkin pie, cranberries and other goodies made just for them. The video below is wonderful footage from past Celebration For The Turkeys events.

This year, celebrate your Thanksgiving in the spirit of compassion and enjoy a delicous plant-based meal with your family!

Sorry if this dbl loads; was being stubborn the 1st time.

LOOOOOVED this Happy-For-A-Change video! And LOOOOOVE the turkeys...and all the non-human beings! Can I liiiiiiive at Farm Sanctuary, please?

As for those here who just HAD to spoil such joyful altruism by making deliberately antagonistic/pro-killing, snarking anti-vegan commentary.....this just belies your OWN hidden or not-so-hidden agendas. Really, if you have such a need to criticize GOOD things, whether you, yourselves can or cannot reach higher pinnacles of other-centricity, that's pretty sad.

Can you even begin to comprehend, much less FEEL, the love this inspires and spreads out onto the planet & into the universe? I know *I* can, and it makes my spirit SOAR!

A heartwarming video about Karen Dawn's turkey rescue here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jSgKtA-_GY

Turkeys, whether they are raised under a conscience-soothing "humane" label or not, are subjected to extreme cruelties in transport AND at the slaughterhouse. Why? Because over 95 percent of the animals slaughtered in the USA are not covered under the Federal Humane Slaughter Laws; all poultry is exempt. Cruelties to these birds are overlooked and/or "accepted" as the norm.

FARM SANCTUARY, YOU HAVE JUST JOINED MY HERO-LIST. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR EDUCATIONAL WORK - MAY THE WORLD TURN VEGETARIAN, I JUST DID ONE WEEK AGO AND I DONT MISS ANYTHING, I HAVE JUST ADDED ANOTHER 10 YEARS TO MY LIFE AND THE LIVES OF ALL THE CREATOR'S BEAUTIFUL PEACEFUL & LOVING CREATURES. MY PRAYER IS THAT THE VEGETARIAN SUPPORTERS WILL GROW SO MUCH IN NUMBERS THAT THE MEAT-INDUSTRY WILL COMPLETELY FALL FLAT. THEIR EAT-MEAT PROPAGANDA & ADVERTISEMENTS ON TELEVISION, MAGAZINES ARE REVOLTING. MY HUSBAND IS ALSO SLOWLY COMING IN AND MY SISTER HAS JOINED THE VEGETARIAN ARMY. LETS PLANT MORE VEGETABLE GARDENS & FRUIT TREES
