Happy contraception day! Today eight provisions of Obamacare go into effect which means 47 million women will benefit from the guaranteed coverage of preventative services including contraception coverage without co-pays. This coverage will translate into real economic savings for women and families and marks the end of arbitrary price gouging in health insurance coverage on the basis of gender.

Try as they might but House Republicans just couldn’t muster up enough votes to pass their DC 20-week abortion ban.
Meanwhile women’s rights advocates are hoping the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals will step in and enjoin Arizona’s 20 week ban from going into effect since it is now the wild west in the federal courts when it comes to abortion rights.
