If you thought it was bad enough to have violently anti-choice men in the legislature and on the bench, imagine a world where they are the sheriffs as well. That’s this man’s dream, and among his beliefs is that as sheriff the Constitution would bestow him with special authority to arrest doctors for performing legal abortions and, if necessary, use deadly force in those arrests. And if prosecutors don’t prosecute doctors for, well, doing their jobs by performing legal abortions, the answer is simple. Charge the prosecutors AND the doctors via a citizens grand jury. Umm that is not a man we want armed and with the force of the law behind him.
The Republican party adopts a no abortion, no exceptions plank to its platform but for some reason people expect Rep. Todd Akin to drop out of the Missouri Senate race for extrapolating on what that policy looks like in practice. It makes no sense. Of course he’s not dropping out.
Given that the GOP has decided to go public with all its crazy, maybe it’s part of some larger plan. That could explain the hurricane that seems headed straight for the Republican National Convention Next week.
With the RNC around the corner, now is probably a good time to ask yourself if you’re still a member of the middle class.
Could America’s parents be the reason our schools seem to struggle?
It’s not your imagination, Islamaphobia is up in the US.
There’s a new study that suggests pro-ana sites have some redeeming qualities. Hmmm….
The march against science isn’t reserved for places like Mississippi and Texas. It’s happening in California too where one town’s sex education curriculum includes advising students to get plenty of rest if they contract an STD.
More reasons to love FLOTUS. Michelle Obama hosts the first ever kids’ state lunch. How long till Fox News runs some “socialist spinach” next time the issue of re-vamping school lunches comes up?
Tired of all this rape-talk from Republicans? Me too. This piece helps.
