Palin Sues Over the Protection of Endangered Beluga Whales

Gov. Sarah Palin announced that Alaska has plans to sue over the increased protection of beluga whales in the Cook Inlet. This all on the heels of trying to keep polar bears off the endangered species list just five months prior.
The current population of beluga whales in the Cook Inlet is a mere 375, down from what used to be thousands. It was listed last year after scientists determined the whale would face extinction in less than 100 years. Only five groups of beluga whales live in U.S. waters off Alaska.
Under the protection of the Endangered Species Act, all federally funded or permitted activities in the Cook Inlet are now subject to review. Though Denby Lloyd, commissioner of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, says the population is stable and beginning to recover.
Um, can we get someone NOT from Alaska to decide this?
The Cook Inlet which hosts the city of Anchorage is also a mature oil-producing basin - shocking! Which is why Palin opposes the listing. It will greatly impact oil and gas developments from expanding into the Anchorage port.
"This listing decision didn't take those efforts into account as required by law," Palin said.
But this isn't the first time Palin has put Big Oil before the environment, and it won't be the last. "Gov. Palin seems more than willing to sacrifice endangered whales on the altar of oil companies," said Brendan Cummings, director of The Center for Biological Diversity.
Next, she'll want to start aerial hunting of the beluga. Tell Sarah Palin how you feel about saving the beluga whale by signing our petition!

Sarah Palin has sure been accused of doing all kinds of things now has she not? Truth is she is responsible for none of it - not then and not now but ya'll will believe what you want because you like to be brain washed I suppose. America propaganda and political mud slinging = sheeple who never think or act for themselves. Only in America eh?

Sarah Palin is a poor excuse for a human being. She has her own agenda and it doesn't include doing anything good for the planet. Just good for Sarah. She doesn't care about anything or anyone but herself. Bloodthirsty bitch. No wonder her family is so screwed up.

Truly shocking, but I guess we should not be shocked?

Sarah Palin would do that. She can't even respect the basic rights of the meek and defenseless, yet people trust her to make decisions on their behalf? Unbelievable...

She is gone from the Alaskan political scene but there are many left behind who have the same all encompassing and grotesque love of money. Their lack of regard for the natural world is destroying our planet.

Well may be an old post but still shows her disregard for wildlife. She is now trying to run for a bigger office using Faux news to get what she wants. This evil witch just isn't going to go away any time soon so we need to know her stands on wild life. And whom ever thinks this is bull about wolves needs to re check her stands as you are burying your head in a deep hole. She is proud of the fact she is a hunter and kill, kill, kill. And that excuse for a husband, wow, most natives of any degree in blood respect wildlife and eat what they kill. Bet they didn't eat that kodiak bear that she so proudly displays when she is interviewed. Wake up people, she has NO RESPECT for living things, including us.

Just for the record, this article was posted 374 days ago. No press is the best press for this waste of carbon matter, let her fade off into the bowels of Foxnews.

OMG! Here she goes again! I am so sick of seeing her on talk shows, pretending to be this sweet, back-woods girl, and the hosts NEVER bring up animal issues. She would love nothing better than to wipe out all of the wolves, polar bears, beluga whales, and any other animal that get's in her way. The best was the interview she gave during Thaksgiving. She stood their talking about her family dinner, smiling, and right behind her was a guy, brutally slaughtering turkeys....fabulous!!
I thought women were kind-hearted towards children and animals...guess not!

I hope FOX does toss her under the bus, I am disappointed they are unabashedly putting her out there on every show. I have serious doubts about her, she talks in fragmented words that really don't connect. Oh GOD, I hope she is not running in 2012, we don't need a 3rd disaster. I have serious doubts about her competency.
