They’re not all villains, but do you have a favorite member of the “ONE percent” who’s using his/her money to harm or disempower the rest of us– the other 99 percent? Have you wondered just who the others are?
Name your favorite one-percenter and Robert Greenwald and Brave New Foundation will count the votes for each nominee and investigate the “winners.” Here’s how it will work:
The Foundation offers some interesting facts. We know most of them, but they are even more powerful when they are all in one place.
- In just the last generation, the richest 1% almost quadrupled their incomes.
- The average wealth of the 1% is 225 times bigger than the wealth of the typical household — the highest it’s ever been.
- Three decades ago, CEOs made about 40 times as much as an average worker — now CEOs make almost 200 times as much as regular employees.
- Last year, half of Americans earned less than $26,000 while CEOs at top 500 companies raked in an average of $11 million.
- Over the past decade, earnings for middle-class Americans actually fell. In fact, working Americans’ wages are now a lower percentage of our economy than they’ve ever been.
- The divide between the richest and the poorest is worse in America than it is in nearly all of Europe and Asia and much of Africa. It’s about as bad as in Rwanda and Serbia — and it’s bad for our economy.
The 1% is not an accident — it is the result of policies our government chose to pursue.

They have no regard for human life and live in a esoteric world far removed from the lives of ordinary people. They are secular perversions of Calvinism who accrue to themselves as members of the elect and internalize a godlike image of themselves. They feel above the law of common decency and are the scions of greed. Beware my friends if they feed you crumbs to silence you. If you are placated by future prosperity and become silenced they will have won. Never be silenced again!
Not ALL the 1% is bad.
Are there any good guys in the one per cent?
Good initiative. To fight effectively for a better world, we need to know how things really are, have concrete data.
Many of the 1% leave that category and become part of the 99%. Do they then become good people, because they are in the 99% rather than the 1%? Others move from the 99% to the 1%. Do they thereby become evil? Humanity includes a great variety of personal types, good and bad, in every percentile, from the bottom 1% to the top 1%. There are always people moving from one category to another. Each person should be judged on his/her individual character and behavior, regardless of how they may be pigeonholed financially.
A business will only hire what they need to get a job done regardless of what their profits are.
Unemployment will continue to grow as the job pyramid shrinks.
People with no income cannot buy stuff because they have no money.
The economy will die because people can't buy anything.
Rich people will end up broke because their money/investments will be worthless after the economy dies.
Stop believing the lies of greedy stupid people. Giving more money to the rich will NOT solve America’s problems. It will just make things even worse.

I agree with the Koch Brothers and Rupert Murdoch!
The Koch brother are definetly the 1%. They use their money to buy elections, and policies that hurt the aveage american. They fund everthing frrom union busting proposals to fighting against the civil rights our society has gained over the last 50 years.
The Koch Brothers get my vote.
