Revolution Foods is igniting a healthy food revolution and believes that all children deserve access to healthy, wholesome food. They have revolutionized the school lunch line by providing healthy, affordable and fresh meals to over 120,000 K-12 students every day and have served over 33 million meals, to date.
Founded in 2006, this B Corp serves fresh and healthy breakfast, lunch, snack, and supper meals to students in over 600 education programs nationwide, where two-thirds of these children are in low-income households. Their meals are home–style and based on real food ingredients like whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables. They never use high fructose corn syrup, artificial trans fats, preservatives or anything artificial. Revolution Foods is committed to making an impact by providing healthy meals and offering nutrition education programs designed to encourage healthier eating decisions. Their high food standards, food and school partners, and 750 plus community hired employees, are all helping Revolution Foods lead the charge against the national childhood obesity crisis.
Co-founders Kristin Richmond and Kirsten Tobey first heard about B Certification over two years ago. As more and more companies they admired became certified, it became clear that B Certification was the right step. They wanted access to the partnerships and official recognition that come with Certification. With these benefits, Revolution Foods hopes to expand their food programs and educational influence to new regions across the United States. Chicago and New Orleans: Here they come!

Sounds great...But how many kids actually eat it and don't throw it away? They don't tell you that many children only eat a few things and then make up for it when they get home. The trick is to give a little junk with a lot of good, like ketchup and salad dressings to inspire eating what's underneath it.
Thanks for sharing.
Evidence of the value of B Corps! Wish that only such corps were eligible for tax breaks!

Good healthful foods such as begining the day with whole grains is good for kids and helps them remain on task. But do some kids really need to be served Sushi in school. Yes I recently heard of this being served in some schools-----so I wonder who is minding the budget!
