Israel is sending home the hundreds of flotilla activists it captured, and predicts them to all be home within 48 hours.
Meanwhile, a Flotilla spokesman says their aim was never to break the blockade, but to merely anchor outside Gaza in international waters and wait for months, if necessary, until allowed entrance.
Israel struck too soon. With both sides armed heavier with video cameras than guns, it appears the activists’ PR offensive has been the winner so far.

I don't feel that I am educated enough in this area to take one side over the other. I will say that I hope and pray for peace for all involved. One thing that I can say is that, after reading so much about this situation recently, I definitely plan on doing a large amount of research on all of this.
So many people get all sympathetic for the "Palestinians" and Hamas. But non-jewish arabs don't have a claim to the land. It was the territory of the Jews. Then the Romans took it by force. Then Arabs took it by force. Then Europeans, ultimately the British took it by force. Then it was peacefully handed off the the natives.
I'm not here saying God gave Israel to the Jews, I don't believe that. But they I don't mind that after all these centuries they have their land back. Their aren't Palestinians. Their are just trouble making Arabs in Isreal . Yet people take their side, and the side of Hamas.
I bet if any of you had a actual encounter with Hamas in Gaza, you'd change your mind real quick if you lived that long. They are murderous brutes and terrorist.
I'm not a conservative or even religious, but these leftist peace-mongers get annoying, especially when they become hypocrites after supporting war-mongering terrorist for idiotic sentimental reasons.
It's never to soon to strike down terrorist.
A force qu'on avance dans le temps tout les juifs deviennent
de plus en plus agressifs et violents sans coeurs de la haine pas seulement envers les palestiniens mais aussi le monde entier .
Israel now stopped the Racial Koori ship in the middle of the sea.
Its arrogance reached the limit, its likely to say hay world I dont care of you I will do anything I want, and USA with me.
USA vetoes every decision against Israel that gives her the support to go on its terrorist activities.
Carole Brown, perhaps you are unaware of the numerous unilateral ceasefires that Hamas has undertaken over the years. In return for these truces Israel assasinates their leaders. Hamas is the democractically elected leader of the Palestinian people. People who are not animals as you call them. They have been treated like animals perhaps that is why you are confused.
Charles Temm you are not telling the truth. No arms were on the ships attacked by Israel. They were not manned by "terrorists" or anti-semites out to destroy Israel. Nine people gave their lives in an attempt to bring relief and public attention to an illegal, immoral and repugnant collective punishment of the people of Gaza.
The Israeli apologists all overlook that the individual Palestinians had their land taken from them and olive groves which had been in one family for up to 1000years were destroyed for Israeli housing. That medics wearing white coats were shot by Israeli soldiers. Now the Israelis attack totally unarmed people and express surprise when they attempt to defend themselves with whatever comes to hand, even iron bars against Israeliu firearms, and this in international waters. Any one else would term it piracy or terrorism. But US still subsidises their out of control army because of the Jewish voting strength.
almost forgot,
Alan Dershowitz. "12: Did Israel Create the Arab Refugee Problem?". The Case for Israel. p. 81.
Alan Dershowitz wrote in his book The Case for Israel that "[Removal of Arabs] certainly seems to have been the policy of the Irgun".
Boro,
well placed answer, perhaps few know that the current Likud party, although founded in seventies is directly link to terrorist organization Irgun which used car bombs to destroy hotel King David, killing innocent civilians. In 2008 they commemorated the terrorist attack as the act of freedom.
I am really glad that my government spends my tax money to finance apatheid regime, which do not recognize human rights, international law, refuse to be part on nuclear treaty. The cliche of being anti-semitic if criticize the Israeli government used daily under the context of war on terror. Well, if several Nobel prize laureats and 81-year old diplomat Edward Peck are terrorist then .... who is not. Maybe Ehud Barak or Avigor Libermann perhaps Nethaniyahu should be Nobel prize winners
