Georgia Tech: It Gets Better!

Georgia Tech: It Gets Better!

A varied group of people from Georgia Tech have recorded a special It Gets Better documentary style video to tell young LGBTQs to stay strong, to have conviction in their own identities and to seek help if they need it.

The video, produced and directedby Julie Champion and Jesse Stommel, aims to give a broad picture of LGBTQs at Georgia Tech and featurespersonal interviews with students, faculty, staff, administration, and alumni — all of varying sexualities and backgrounds. There are some heartwarming stories, some truly emotive issues and a lot of affirmative messages to be seen here. True the video is long at just under 20 minutes, but it’s worth every second:

When I was 8 I was bullied for being learning disabled. When I was 12 I was bullied for it and for being the teacher's kid. When I was 15 I was molested because people thought I might be a lesbian. The things done to you when your young change you in a way no other treatment can alter you. But one day I went from the Retarded dyke who didn't know her place to the Writer people want to read.

The better it becomes is something you don't expect because the past doesn't erase. It's the future that becomes something amazing. And in one moment you look at where you are and see it got better.

URGENT PLEASE NOTE:

If you sign a petition above, many other petitions are then presented for you to sign;

BEWARE OF THE PETITIONS YOU SIGN WITHOUT READING IT FIRST. A PETITION WILL COME UP FROM "CREATIVE AMERICA". IF YOU READ IT CAREFULLY THEY ARE ACTUALLY TRYING TO TAKE YOUR INTERNET FREEDOM AWAY. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE WORDS "PROTECT WORKERS" IN THE TITLE!!!!! IT'S THE "SOPA ACT" THEY'RE TRYING TO GET YOU TO ENDORSE!!!

They have stooped to a NEW low posting a petition like that on this website. They would like to control WHAT you see and WHERE you go on the INTERNET.
