If there’s anyone out there who isn’t sick of hearing about Michael Vick, they’ll be excited to hear he’s going to be starring in his very own eight-part documentary series on BET, worth about $600,000.
“I just want people to really get to know me as an individual,” Vick told the Los Angeles Times. “What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I’ve made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it’s not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up.”
The show, The Michael Vick Project, is scheduled to air next year and will review Vick’s life, from his troubled past through his arrest for running a dog fighting ring and his return to football, along with the toll it’s all taken on his relationships with friends and family.
“People never had a chance to know Mike Vick outside of football. They know me from the case and football, and that’s not fair to me, that’s not fair to my family, or fair to my fans. I want people to see what I’m all about,” said Vick.
Just so we’re all straight on this, Vick bankrolls a dog fighting ring where he abuses and kills dogs, gets caught and serves 18 months in jail, gets out and signs a multimillion dollar contract with the Eagles, gets his own television show and we’re supposed to feel bad because nobody understands him?
Did Vick already show is what he’s all about? Is he really even sorry? Or is he just sorry he got caught? Will you watch the show? Or are you sick of hearing about him?
