Glenn Beck to Rally Tea Party at Lincoln Memorial: Martin Luther King Jr. Style

On the 47th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s historic “I Have A Dream” speech,  Glenn Beck plans to rally the Tea Party from the same place Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., delivered the speech on August 28th, 1963 as a part of his efforts to “restore America.”

Rather than rant about Glenn Beck’s obvious exploitation and disrespect for King and the nation he purports to love, I will let Dr. King speak for me and for the America I believe in–something Glenn Beck can never do. When measured against a true servant of America and god, Glenn Beck is exposed for what he really is.

A counter protest is being organized by the National Urban League, the NAACP, and the National Action Network and radio show host Bill Press is urging the cancellation of the event.

Was interested in what tea party forums were like and went looking. The stuff on Gov. debt in interesting and I think we need to find was to cut but there was a lot of racial slurs. Some believe it is beneath they to open dialog with President. comments like yesum boss ect.

okay lets all be honest Glen beck chose this day because hes an attention addict and this would be the most controversial day to have a tea party rally on. Glen beck is a joke to me and so is the tea party movement. Both people/ groups annoy me.

Glenn Beck is not here to unite anyone. He would hand pick appropriate American Citizens and the rest would be in a dangerous situation.

If people really want to know how Dr King would feel about Glenn Beck speaking at the national mall, watch the show that he did with Dr Alveda King and Dr Stephen Broden. I found it quite interesting. If Beck was such a flaming racist, I doubt either one of these fine folks would have been on his show.

Stop lying to the people, it is NOT a Tea Party rally. In fact, it's not even a political rally. How about you do some research and actually read what the "Restoring Honor" rally is about before you condemn Beck for it.

And all of you Beck haters, I watch him every day, and I don't know where all of this hate speech is...I haven't seen it. The NBPP saying to kill crackers and their babies-that's hate speech. Please, cite Beck's hate speech, because I've never heard it.

He still should have the right to free SPEECH!, I don't agree with a lot of things but this is AMERICA and it is his right just as it is yours.

You only have to listen to Beck for 30 seconds to know he is a fanatic and deluded. Ignorant, money grubbing, crazy little man. His hateful speech is nothing more than lunatic ramblings and anyone with an ounce of common sense should be able to see it. He invokes Hitler to make his points and then acts and uses his propaganda just like him. Total MORON. He's a con and a scam artist, it's just toooooo bad some folks are sucked into his bigoted down right ignorant rhetoric.
