God’s Love Apparently Puts Hitchens in Hell

God’s Love Apparently Puts Hitchens in Hell

Bryan Fischer, of the officially labeled hate group the American Family Association, thinks that atheist Christopher Hitchens is in Hell and he’s there because God loves him so very, very much. Here’s what Fischer said in an AFA broadcast following the sad news of Hitchens demise: “But here’s my point, the point I was making earlier is that if he is, if Christopher Hitchens is, in fact, in Hell, he’s there because God loves him.”

Fischer continues: “What I mean by that is that God loves us enough to, in the end, give us what [we] insist on having. If we are determined to have our own way then God, in the end, is going to give us what we insist on having, because that’s what you do for people you love.”

Watch the video courtesy of Right Wing Watch below:

Normally it is a struggle to even care what Fischer might be talking about but I hardly think that Fischer could have paid Hitchens a better tribute than this: For Fischer to contort himself in order to make work his own twisted view of a loving God who would damn someone to Hell for all eternity simply for not believing in Deity only serves to vindicate Htichens’ work, his a life spent in, among other things, vociferous condemnation of many who claim baseless “divine” truth.

Atheists are not Satan lovers or even god haters, they just don't believe that there is any real truth behind religion. I for one am an atheist and I am not in any way associated with hate groups or Satan. I just prefer to stick to the science textbooks and not the bible.

I'm confused: does being an atheist mean you're really quite fond of Satan?

... completely unfounded impact religion with it's delusional brainwashing has.

"That is being a bully"
we clearly have a different view of what a bully is. to be bullying, there has to be an imbalance in power. anyone has the same power as i do, to challenge me. go ahead, those of you who zee claims to keep under his jesus-like robe. i wont bite. i wont back down to phony religious claims though, so be prepared to back up your claims should you have some.

"I will not be back."
good. happy journey. i assume you will walk on water into your delusional sunset.

"as you said... you would still bully them"
no, you're putting words in my mouth. read again what i said.

@ Zee K

"I have no obligation to provide any proof to you"
correct. and if you dont, i have no obligation to give any sort of respect to any of your claims about god healing you. as i said, there are way more probable reasons you are now better. the way the human brain works, though, it is incredibly easy to get ppl to believe in superstitious phenomena. it's our nature. doesnt make those superstitious beliefs any more real though.

"What right do you have to try to destroy another person's reality? That is the bully in you."
no. this is exactly the nonsense im addressing. "oh, but it's real to ME!". rubbish! a person smoking grass can have a 100% "real" experience of a flying elephant in the room. is there really a flying elephant in the room? no. end of story. same with your rubbish about "but I KNOW it's true! it's true to ME!". you are delusional. end of story.

"I use the scientific approach and have it confirmed for me"
so you have documented, repeatable, published, peer-reviewed theories and proofs for your claims about your magical abilities and your god? please send me a link.

"what right do you have to destroy what works for someone else"
as i've said before, i dont really care what someone believes in in their private. religion and your gods have had (and still has) a MASSIVE impact on society and ppl's rights. eg, try to become the president of the USA if you're known to be atheist. that's just one example of what sort of completely unfounded impact

@ Zee K

keep your crap talk about bullying to yourself. im setting you straight with your religious delusions, and all you've got is calling me a bully? one second you were all big and tough saying "I'll wager I know the Bible better than you do", but when the carpet is ripped under your feet and your bible non-sense is shown to be useless, you keep calling me a bully in every second sentence. wow, really impressive.

now you seem to have taken on an oh-you-are-still-a-somewhat-good-person-and-god-loves-u approach. nice. but, again, it means nothing when it comes to giving any sort of credibility to your claims about your magical abilities and your god. pathetic, really.

"the very number of comments you dumped"
im addressing your non-sense as i come across it. you're not bad at posting a larger number of comments yourself, so what are you talking about??

"I want to respect you. Don't make it difficult."
as if your respect means much to me. what matters is reason, logic, evidence, straight non-delusional thinking and progress.

"this attempt to protect the people of Care2 whom I care about"
yes, i know you see yourself as some sort of half-god, with a purpose of protecting everyone. get real.

"Therefore, I may or may not be debating with you again."
makes no difference to me. seems more like an attempt to convince ppl that if you comment more, you think you somehow will "win", and if you dont, you want all those ppl you're trying to protect (did they ask fo

THE END

I have been reading over your responses. You are being abusive. Before I knew the living, vital presence of God in my life, I was co-dependent. When one is good hearted and wants to help others, if one has been subjected to much abuse...well, look what I did.

But I recognize and I do not continue.

I do not want to participate in this type of violence.

I wish you happiness.

I will not be back.

I am No Longer Co-dependent.

And as you said in one of your comments, if there were other people here, you would still bully them.

This didn't work.

Good bye

I greet the God in You.

I am going to take your comments one at a time.

Courtesy is practiced by intelligent people who prefer to respond in a gracious way. Kindness,
gentleness even love for others are the attributes of those who value themselves. In contrast, bullies respond, when frightened, with abusive actions, words and ideas not having the least regard for those they despise.

To hate, to condemn, to bring violence in words or actions to others is the sign of a weakling who does not comprehend that, phycologically, we tend to treat others the way we think we SHOULD be treated. If we are gracious to ourselves, we will natually be gracious to others. Self hate is reflected in the treatment of others.

There are records of the miracles of healing which I experienced when I came back to my God. My profile gives the story, and no that is not proof. The doctors and dentists were themselves amazed. I got second opinions. I was dying. I was healed. No preacher was there, just me and God. But my friends at the office, my boss, my associates were remarking on the difference in me. This was proof to me and those who knew me before and after.

I have no obligation to provide any proof to you. You well know, the doctors aren't going to give you copies of my records before and after. When I get yearly check ups the doctors still are amazed at my good health. I am 69 and even my hair is still not grayed.

This proof is enough for me. I was once an

My postulate is that, most often, people experience what they expect. Be it unto you according to your faith.

Now for the last comment that I am going to deal with at this time,

What right do you have to try to destroy another person's reality? That is the bully in you. If I want to believe in this sphagetti monster that was brought up, what is that to you? I don't mind for me. I use the scientific approach and have it confirmed for me. I am talking about the others you attack.

One's belief system, and you have one, the world view atheism, is a most precious possession to you. You enjoy being an atheist with the illusion of being intelligent. However, what right do you have to destroy what works for someone else.

If they want to believe the good fairy leaves a diamond on their bed every night and if, as a result, their bank account is growing and growing and growing, what right do you have to challenge their reality? That is being a bully.

I have no intention of challenging your reality or enforcing mine. Mine works for me. I hope yours works for you. However, with your attitude, and you have a right to have any attitude you want, it's your possession chosen by you, with your attitude I don't think you are humanist enough to care what you do to the treasures of others.

My one intention in this "debate" is to stop the bullying of my Care2 friends and associates.
