Growing Numbers of Americans Say Obama Is A Muslim

Barack Obama is a Christian. That is an objective fact. But more and Americans don’t think so.

In the wake of the political furor over the Cordoba House, a new study released by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press and the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life showed that while increasing numbers of Americans think that Obama is a Muslim, fewer believe that he is a Christian. A plurality of those surveyed said that they did not know what religion the president followed.

The Pew study found that “nearly one-in-five Americans (18%) now say Obama is a Muslim, up from 11% in March 2009. Only about one-third of adults (34%) say Obama is a Christian, down sharply from 48% in 2009. Fully 43% say they do not know what Obama’s religion is.”

The more disturbing part of the survey dealt with the breakdown of these views among Obama’s opponents. According to the Pew Center,

“The belief that Obama is a Muslim has increased most sharply among Republicans (up 14 points since 2009), especially conservative Republicans (up 16 points). But the number of independents who say Obama is a Muslim has also increased significantly (up eight points). There has been little change in the number of Democrats who say Obama is a Muslim, but fewer Democrats today say he is a Christian (down nine points since 2009).”

How are people absorbing this misinformation? The study has an answer for that too – when asked how they learned about Obama’s religion, 60% of those who said that Obama is a Muslim cited the media.

According to the study, beliefs about Obama’s religion are closely tied to views of his political performance. Those who say he is a Muslim “overwhelmingly” disapprove of his job performance, while those who think he is Christian seem satisfied with his work.

I have gotten endless amounts of e-mails stating that President Obama is a muslim and not an American citizen. You know what I do with all those e-mails? Delete them! Do any of you that believe that the President is either muslim and/or not even a citizen watch a lot of Fox news? Because that network isn't well known for it's accuracy in news reporting. I just saw a map where they had put Egypt in the wrong place. Anyway. Do you believers actually think that the people over at the candidate registration didn't check up on the President's birth certificate just as they have done and do to everyone candidating for the presidency? In a country where only 1 in 4 high school students can place United States on a world map, I shouldn't be surprised there are a lot of mythology flying around.

God is indeed Love.
I will pray that He will Graciously rebuke you in His wonderful way.

worship Him in Spirit and Truth.

I'm humbled but challenged to be more For Him and not to sit in boastful imaginations and Fearful Religiosity.
We worship a God Who became nothing for us but are commanded to walk in Love ; for outside of this you are nothing.

Clara- You use the BIBLE as a "useful guide" and JESUS as a Master Teacher?? You must pick out the verses that make you feel good, because nowhere in the BIBLE does it say that GOD is a "Spirit of Love". That is where most people are mistaken, As I stated in a previous message, GOD is RIGHTEOUS and JUST. HE will punish those who do not believe in and obey HIS WORD. Not only that, but JESUS was not a "Master Teacher". HE was GOD incarnate. The old testament prophets foretold HIS coming. So how do you explain that. Also, how do you think your sins are to be atoned, i.e. forgiven, washed away, purged? Your heart has deceived you, because you dont fully believe in the WORD of GOD....... If you dont have the love of GOD's WORD (the truth) in your heart, GOD himself will send you a strong delusion that you will believe a lie... II Thessalonians 2:10-12

Patricia B- Please expalin and be very specific on how I "shook the BIBLE at you and judged you". You should read your remarks toward me, it is you that is doing the judging. That is the problem with people who dont want to accept the truth of the WORD of GOD, they want to accuse the person who is trying to show them the truth that they are being "judgmental". I wont deny the fact that there are people who do that, but it is not my intention to do so. It is my duty as a Christian to lead people to JESUS before its too late for them.

Clara- "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9.....I will not believe where my heart leads. I will believe in the word of GOD. From what I can tell, you don't follow the GOD of the BIBLE. Sad, time is drawing to end for people to take the chance and follow the ONE TRUE GOD. After GOD calls HIS people home, i.e. the "RAPTURE", the ANTI-Christ will show up and those who don't worship him will be accused of being a "follower of JESUS" and have the chance to denounce JESUS and if they dont they will be killed.
