Guess Who’s Coming For Lunch? A St. Patricks Tradition Brings Both Parties Together

Guess Who’s Coming For Lunch? A St. Patricks Tradition Brings Both Parties Together

It’s St. Patrick’s Day, and the Washington politicians may need the luck of the Irish to get through the annual St. Patrick’s Day lunch.

Via Politico:

In the heat of an intense budget debate in Washington, Speaker John Boehner is hosting President Barack Obama and Vice President Joseph R. Biden for lunch Thursday.

But government funding isn’t on the menu, after all, it’s St. Patrick’s Day.

In what is a decades old tradition in Washington, the Ohio Republican will host the president, vice president and Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny for the Friends of Ireland luncheon Thursday afternoon in the Rayburn Room in the Capitol.

All I know is if I were attending, I would be asking for a lot of green beer.

Good by coming together maybe they will do what they we're elected for; serving the American people and not corporations, banks, Wall Street, or the wealthy! Their Overlords, and the downfall of what America is really supposed to be, a DEMOCRACY devoted to it's people's will.

St. Patrick's Day used for political discussion, sad… It is the day for is a religious holiday celebrated internationally on 17 March. It commemorates Saint Patrick (c. AD 387–461), the most commonly recognised of the patron saints of Ireland, and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland.

The article states: "It's St. Patrick's Day, and the Washington politicians may need the luck of the Irish to get through the annual St. Patrick's Day lunch."

They're going to need more than luck to get through this luncheon. The event is being sponsored by John Boehner. Add "cabbage" to a "blowhard" and the results are bound to be unpleasant.

Well maybe if they have enough green beer everyone will admit they love each other "I love you man" and they will come to an agreement on a few things (but they will regret it in the morning).
