Health Care Reform Bigger Threat to Freedom than Any Terrorist

197 comments Health Care Reform Bigger Threat to Freedom than Any Terrorist

Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) does it again.

One day she’s calling the murder of Matthew Shepard a “hoax” and the next she’s pronouncing health care reform is a bigger threat to American freedom than “any terrorist from any country.”  That’s right Virginia!  Virginia Foxx went there.

Please, North Carolina–stop voting for her! Foxx is an ignorant, shameful embarrassment to your state and to our country.

Here’s the transcript, also from ThinkProgress:

“Everywhere I go in my district, people tell me they are frightened. … I share that fear, and I believe they should be fearful. And I believe the greatest fear that we all should have to our freedom comes from this room — this very room — and what may happen later this week in terms of a tax increase bill masquerading as a health care bill. I believe we have more to fear from the potential of that bill passing than we do from any terrorist right now in any country.

As I’ve said many times, 30 years from now those who voted against health care reform efforts this year will go down in the history of this country as the most regressive and uncaring legislators since the lawmakers who voted against civil rights legislation. They’ll become an embarrassing footnote in our nation’s history who fought against progress.

I suppose she's right if you equate freedom with the amount of money you have. Then yeah, sure, the health care reform is totally going to take away my freedom. Getting cancer and not being able to get proper treatment for it really isn't going affect my freedom at all, am I right? NOT IN MY AMERICA.

Imagin, with our material possessions dwindling, less courage may be required now than in the past...

"If we stop paying the government it will obey us"- Doug Wilson posted.

That is it in a little nutshell. We can not "vote" this occupation of criminals ( aka US Gov) away.
With courage and a willingness to endure any consequences, there is only one way to create change.
Are we brave enough to do so? Or are we so attached to our material accumulation- our assets and property- that we will always OBEY?

A friend of mine recently sent me this idea: next year most everyone is up for reelection in the house - vote ALL of them out, and put in people who have no experience, no contacts, no one in their hip pocket, no friends who are lobbyists - period. Do the same with a third of the house who are up, then repeat in 2012 and 2014 - it's time to start over and actually have people who represent their states - not line their pockets with all the perks while voting themselves a $15,000 raise last month! I've NEVER worked anywhere that the employees got to vote themselves a raise...have you? LOL

M/M (Medicaid/Medicare, not Medical Marijuana) has a lot of problems, no question about it. I don't think the Baucus part of the bill will help it at all. A major problem is that there are those in government who have always hated M/M and are working to see it fail. We have allowed our government to become schizophrenic: a bill passes and those who were opposed find ways to screw it up so that they can say "tol' ya so".

Is Foxx double x an embarassment to North Carolina? She is an embarassment to the United States.

I would never want to meet her at a bridge game. She looks like the kind that messes up her hand and blames everybody else..

Re: Robert S. (Nov 4, 8:11 PM) Robert's assumptions are false therefore his conclusions cannot be sound however loudly he may shout them.

I concur with Linda. As for Virginia Foxx, poor lady, she is not a complete idiot. She is an incomplete idiot, but cannot be blamed for how she was born and razed.
