Diego is a young lion who was born in captivity and later confiscated by authorities during a criminal investigation. He was moved to Zacango Zoo near Mexico City where he’s been living in conditions that have animal advocates concerned about his health and well-being.
Diego’s advocates, who believe he is suffering in his current enclosure, have been fighting to have him moved to the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado, but officials at Mexico’s Federal Agency for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA) who had legal custody of Diego inexplicably dragged their feet on the issue and then donated him to the zoo.
Please sign the petition asking the Zacango Zoo and PROFEPA to do what’s best for Diego and authorize his move to a sanctuary.
