Check out this gorgeous video of a lovely pileated woodpecker chowing down on the contents of a suet feeder.
The GoPro camera catches a unique close-up view of this bird. I’m not sure if the camera is motion-activated, or this was just lucky timing – but what a fantastic video!

Great video.......I often said that A lot of feeders and suet should hang outside the window of the common area of nursing homes. We have a glass sunroom that we spend a lot of time in simply watching the birds....So much fun !!!
These birds are fantastic in the wild.
thank you
Woodpeckers are great! We have one smaller kind visiting quite often on our yard(very tiny little backyard) eating the the suet-balls with seed. I feed the birds all winter and now they really need that because we have quite cold and lots of snow.
In the spring, when they have the fledglings (baby birds??) they also come to have a quick supper :) so the busy parents also have some food =D
