Last week, we posted our interview and talked about Environmental Defense Fund’s cool new interactive Google Map identifying the green jobs in 12 states. EDF’s Director of Sustainable Technology, Jackie Roberts also laid out how you define green jobs, and the incentives we need to move forward.
But there’s another part of the equation. What should government policy look like to incentivize the change in our economy that’s needed? In the second half of our interview with EDF, we focus on one of the more talked-about policy solutions: Cap and Trade, which is favored by the Obama Administration. Check out the second part of our interview and take action!

+ add your ownI agree with Erin H. Industry must factor pollution into the cost of doing business. It is a huge social cost that is inflicted upon us by big business.

Cap and trade has worked for California and has increased green jobs and the rest of the country needs to follow suit. Japan and most of Europe have this system and it is working. If America adopts this policy more countries would follow. Even China is realizing that they have to do something. We also need to adopt the Kyoto Treaty. The real problem is the greed that is seathing in the U.S. We can't stand that someone else might not adopt these ideas and we won't get our share of the wealth. It's really rather pitiful. Look at big business and their lobbyists if you want to know why we haven't done anything really "good" for the global environment.

Hi Erin.
How is it a derivatives scam exactly? I'm interested in your take on it.
Cap-and-trade is just another derivatives scam for the Wall Street boyz to profit from. It will do nothing to control pollution. We need a carbon tax, pure and simple.
