Kittens, Kittens, Kittens (Livestream)

Since it’s Friday afternoon, we feel the need to provide you with some adorable entertainment. These kittens were born on June 7 in Pittsburgh, PA. The kittens’ caretakers want everyone to know that although kittens are undeniably adorable, all cats should be spayed or neutered. Have a great weekend!

Hello Mary M and Chris,

Thank you so much, Mary, for the video of Ramon and Venus. Ramon is GORGEOUS. They all are. The downside of living in a studio is that there's not enough room for a cat. The footage of Ramon playing is wonderful. The caretakers are incredibly generous to keep us viewers informed. It's a little sad, too, because they won't be together any more.

Thanks Mary for that link again. I watched both Venus and Ramon's departures tonite...and their sweet faces and each of their waves goodbye. Ramon was my 2nd favorite and he looks exactly like my Ruby. The link also says all 7 kittens are now adopted. Thank goodness. What an experience to watch these exquisite kittens (and their gorgeous Mom) grow up and depart into their new lives. I pray they all live happy lives.

Hi everyone. If you go to this link and scroll down past the old picture and the video window you'll see a series of video highlights. There is a Venus departs part 1 and part 2 (with the wave.) There are several, including Hank's & Spookey's departures. I lurked on the conversation to find out about Ramon but so far haven't learned anything. It's really sad because after the wave when the caretaker takes Venus, Ramon jumps off the bed and follows. I feel so bad for him. I haven't seen Noodles either but she won't go until Ramon does so that's better.

Rose Marie - you are most welcome.
Mary - Thank you for that link. They are absolutely darling!
I'm so sad I missed Venus' departure.
Anybody know about Ramon -has he been adopted yet?
I'm watching a big, gorgeous kitty sleeping on the bed...reminds me of my departed Sweet Sadie. I've also seen a big orange tiger - reminds me of my Ruby...and my childhood kitty, TigerLily.

Now I see that my other comment got cut off - I swear this website gives me fits!

I was saying that on July 23rd, I made the comment here that "The little "runt" isn't such a runt anymore; he's almost as big as the others now and gives as good as he gets! Plus I notice his hair has gotten thicker and fluffier - he looks like a little cream puff!" - and after that everyone here was calling him Cream Puff. Loki is a cute name; his new "sister" is Freyja; apparently this family names their pets after Norse gods and goddesses.

I just wanted to add that I've also been watching the kittens at Asecondchancerescue a little; it was very sad that Scout slipped away; that happened before I tuned in, but there are recorded videos that show him when he was alive. That brought fresh tears, on top of the Seven Kittens being adopted one by one. They said the Second Chance kittens were all born about August 3rd; the mother is Scarlet; 3 are her own and 4 were another cat's (don't remember why she couldn't care for them); they don't really say which are Scarlet's and which are the other's; Scout's passing leaves her with six. They're 3 weeks old now and getting more adorable all the time - so, here we go again! We have a few weeks to enjoy them and then they'll break our hearts again when they get adopted. Chris, I hope the fostering works for you - but I'm sure I'd end up as one of those "crazy" old ladies with too many cats! Right now I have 3, but now I want another kitten - make that 2 kittens, because they should have company, and I think siblings should stay together. Actually, I want Loki and Venus, but I know it's not going to happen. Does anyone know if Ramon is spoken for - or what happened with his new parents?

I want to thank Chris C publicly for the message you sent me, with the links. I thought my reply would appear here, but again, I have trouble with this website, and didn't know what I was doing. I especially liked the beasone.org website, and have exchanged messages with Susan at that site; she sent me her zip file of photos and I sent her a small sample of screenshots I have saved along the way. To be frank, I have saved 100s of screenshots of "The Pittsburgh Seven" as I dubbed them, all as Word (actually Works) documents. I have no idea how to save them as jpegs, but Susan asked for permission to use some of mine and I said sure, so I guess she knows how to convert them. She liked a shot I had of Venus and Spooky from several weeks back, so it may be on her site soon (or even now, I haven't had time to check back).

It got very confusing with all the names we gave these babies. Early on I used to think of the two red males with white feet as "Boots" and "Socks", but I always had a hard time telling them apart. Later I thought of them as the "Impy and Elfie" twins; the one adopted as "Hank" was my "Elfie". I think of Ramon as "Fluffy". I like Noodles name, and once said if her name is Noodles, her look-alike son, "Runty", could be "Macaroni" - of course that was Loki. On July 23rd, I made a comment on here "The little "runt" isn't such a runt anymore; he's almost as big as the others now and gives as good as he gets! Plus I notice his hair has gotten thicke

Ok - let's try this again - I have a lot of trouble with this website - somehow I hit "add comment" while I was typing - I also have to retype a lot because some of my letters don't appear the first time - very annoying!

As I said, Hi Everyone, thanks for your messages. I was watching this afternoon when JLK had the farewell party for Venus. She kept moving the camera to follow Noodles, Venus and Ramon, while they nursed (Still!), groomed themselves and groomed each other. Finally, she held Venus in front of the camera and waved her paw at it, at 3:30, just as someone said. Since then, I've only seen Ramon asleep under the bed. I was grabbing Screenshots all the way through, but didn't getting the paw waving, unfortunately, because I hadn't yet saved the previous shot of the closeup of her darling face. I've been weepy all afternoon, knowing this was coming, and that Ramon is alone now, and that this little family will never be together again. I said once, in a previous comment, that if this had happened to me, I would have kept them all - and I meant it. Most people wouldn't, or couldn't, but it is particularly sad to break up this little group - they are all so special!

I started that previous message a little abruptly. There are some new kitties on Ustream - just a little over a week. There are six and the url is in my previous message.

Re: the Seven Kitties, in all their sweetness: Right now Venus and Mama are cuddling and Venus is nursing a little. Ramon is under the bed. Venus will be leaving in about an hour. *sniff*
