Meet Cookie, The Adorable Cincinnati Zoo Mascot – VIDEO

Here is an absolutely adorable video, which I could not resist posting!  Meet Cookie, the penguin who is the mascot of the Cincinnati Zoo.

Cookie is a “Little Penguin” and the mascot of the Zoo Bird House. The person who owns this video explains that she shot the video while working at the Cincinnati Zoo as a Guest Keeper for book research and for her blog, “Parrot Nation.”

And the little cutie has something called “BUMBLEFOOT.” On top of being the cutest little thing, he has a cute ailment, and he wears socks!

Yeah, there is absolutely nothing "cute" about bumblefoot. It's a horrible ailment that can result in sepsis as well as loss of the affected limb. It's hard to treat, hard to cure, and can be recurrent. While the penguin is very cute, bumblefoot is anything but.

I think we need zoos to a degree to remind people of the wild world out ther some people need the reminder without zoos some people will care less about the animals because they live way out there.
