Monique Coleman, perhaps best known for her role as Taylor in Disney’s hit movie High School Musical, was appointed the first ever UN Youth Champion last November. Her charge: to raise awareness on youth issues and to encourage young people to rise to the challenge and promote progress in their communities. Coleman’s own website GimmeMo is dedicated to engaging and empowering youth.
Yesterday’s opening session of the Social Good Summit had a decidedly youth focus and Coleman and UN Undersecretary General and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos took to the stage to speak about youth and humanitarian action.
Watch here as Randi Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of R to Z Media, interviews Coleman and Amos at the Summit.
