Over Half Of Republicans Thinks President Wants Worldwide Islamic Law

224 comments Over Half Of Republicans Thinks President Wants Worldwide Islamic Law

One thing polling is exceptionally good for is seeing how much misinformation has spread to the masses.  Just a few weeks ago Pew Research announced that almost 20 percent of Americans believe that President Barack Obama is actually Muslim, and among Republicans that amount increased to one in three.

But now Newsweek has released some even more disturbing numbers: among Republicans that they sampled, over half of them agreed that president may in fact sympathize with Muslim fundamentalists, and likely wants to institute Islamic law across the entire globe.

Via Huffington Post:

A full 14 percent of Republicans said that it was “definitely true” that Obama sympathized with the fundamentalists and wanted to impose Islamic law across the globe. An additional 38 percent said that it was probably true — bringing the total percentage of believers to 52 percent. Only 33 percent of Republicans said that the “allegation” (as Newsweek put it) was “probably not true.” Seven percent said it was “definitely not true.” The rest (eight percent) either didn’t know the answer or didn’t read the question.

Even more startling is that a majority of Republicans believe that the President would actually prioritize a Muslim agenda ahead of any American needs.

Fifty-nine percent of Republicans, for instance, said they believed the president favored “the interests of Muslims over other groups of Americans,” while only 34 percent of said he had been “generally even handed” in his approach.

Besides the fact that this question sets up a “Muslims vs. Other Americans” Us vs. Them dichotomy that only adds to the hostilities facing Muslims in our country these days, the allegations actually come remarkably close to accusing the President of treason.

Is there any wonder that politics in the country has become so incendiary when over half of one political party thinks the President isn’t even interested in the good of the country?

I’ve been away for awhile, and I was preparing to write a lengthy response to particular things you’ve said. But hypocrites like you make it impossible to have a rational or logical discussion with.

The bible has a lot of CRAP in it according to today’s standards, but people like you still believe that women are to be OWNED by their fathers until they are GIVEN AWAY to husbands, who take over ownership.

People like you believe that certain “sinners” should be stoned to death, and you still believe in an eye for an eye.

No, your version of a true Christian SUCKS! It is an abomination to what it means to be human, and you and your kind have no place in America. You need to go to a country that doesn’t live in the 21st century.

Oh, that would be IRAN.

And for your information, your bible doesn’t say that being gay is wrong. It says that people having sex with the same sex is wrong. Now tell us, little miss perfect Christian prude, when is the last time YOU saw people having sex, gay or straight?

INTELLIGENT people would not assume that people are having sex just because they are a couple. Are you intelligent? I can’t tell.

I never said Obama was muslim I said it appears that way and just because Abortion could have killed off evil doesnt mean that it could stop all evil. Evil is the absence of God. Dark is the absence of light. What if your mom decided to abort you? What if you never had the chance to make something of yourself and prove your life was worth living? Who gives us the right to decide who lives and who dies? Nobody. I am not perfect never claaimed to be yes I have judged ppl just bc your a Christian doesnt mean we act completely Christian all the time its not possible. But thanks to Jesus we are forgiven and we can live in the freedom of grace. Thats the problem, ppl think when you are a Christian that when you make a mistake your a hypocrite. A hypocrite is someone who says they have beliefs that they do not actually believe in. Not messing up. It is easier for most people to have no morals than have something actually hold them accountable. If you are pro choice or are gay or do not believe the Bible and everything in it is the inerrant Word of God then you are not a true Christian because you can believe and not take a step to be different and your faith without works is nothing. Its the same as saying. Oh that poor man needs money or clothing I believe he needs help or should be helped. But then you turn away and do nothing. Your belief has proved nothing because you didnt do anything to change it. You actually have to live it. like I said its easier to conform than to change

Cont....

You asked what would have happened if Obama, King or Einstein had been aborted, citing the idea that an aborted child might have changed the world.

Hitler, Stalin, Timothy McVeigh, all the pedophile priests that the pope protected...they all changed the world. And I wouldn't have minded one bit if they had been aborted instead. And that goes for the pedophile-protecting pope now in the Vatican. I wouldn't have minded if the pope that approved of the Salem witch hunts had been aborted, or any of the sickos that participated in that horrendous time. There are plenty of examples that can prove that....

ABORTION KILLS POTENTIAL MONSTERS.

You don't have the right or the authority to declare what is in Obama's heart. He said he is a Christian. MILLIONS of self-described Christians are pro-choice, gay, or any other number of things that the bible frowned on 2 THOUSAND years ago.

It is SOOOO NOT Christian of you to judge them as not being Christian because they believe something that you don't. So how could you possibly know what a Christian is if you won't behave like one yourself?

You think it's classy to decide who is and isn't a Christian? LOL, it's not classy; it's elitist, hypocritical stupidity.

LOL,

1st, Patricia S said "Obama is a Muslin. So

why wouldn't he favor the muslins in

America?"

And right after that, Alan T said ""Obama

is a Muslin"? Do you mean that the very

fabric of society is under some kind of

threat?!"

Did anyone besides Alan notice that, in

Patricia's sorry ignorance of the issues,

she was actually talking about a fabric?

Great reply Alan!

(Normally I would have let it go as a typo, but she typed it twice.)

Folks, what we have here, in Kacey, is the first PERFECT human being to ever walk the planet. So perfect that she alone is the only Christian ever to live, because she alone, believes and lives every word ever written in the bible. She has never deviated from living the bible word for word.

Kacey,

Apparently you'll believe anything the repugs say, since there isn't any evidence of Obama being a Muslim, and certainly no proof. You aren't gullible, just hateful and most definately elitist.

Just because you believe what you believe, doesn't mean you are right. You and the others aren't being condemned for your beliefs. You are being condemned for being too stupid to look at the facts that prove your beliefs to be wrong.

I say "stupid" because intentional ignorance is not ignorance. It's stupidity.

Sharia Law! Don't be ridiculous. The President actually wants Martian Law to be our law. He figures extraterrestials are smarter than us and we'd have a better judicial system.

Let this be a lesson unto you--vote in the mid-term elections against the republicans and keep the crazies out.

12:32PM PDT on Oct 4, 2010

This is absolutely incorrect. President Obama wants Martian Law to be the world's law. He figures aliens are probably smarter than us and we want to be on the winning side.

Let this awful statistic inform you to vote in the mid-term election--it is the only thing that keeps republicans from getting control.

The scary part of this, is that many Americans are uneducated and proud of it. They don't research a question, just listen to Fox and Beck, and believe. They have a conclusion first, and then say things to back up their conclusion. It's sad, and also dangerous.

President Obama is an American of tolerance for all people and all religions, just as our first amendment states. Those who would vilify other religions, deserve no respect themselves.

Kacey: You're too good to call someone "stupid". Haaa! My dear Kacey: you are NOT the pillar of virtue that you think you are. What you ARE is delusional, and you will continue to be mean, stupid and cruel until your dying breath. I could give you monikers that would make your head spin, but I'll leave it at "stupid"! Keep up your delusions. I'm sure they get you through each and every day.

Kacey: If a woman can get pregnant, then DAMN her!!! Is this really a matter of punishing her?? So, becoming pregnant is actually a punishment for women!!?? You don't know how deranged, depraved, cruel, stupid and vicious you Christian zealots show yourselves to be. Your attitudes are the total antithesis of all Jesus - your savior - represented. Jesus today would be a Liberal Progressive, AND a Socialist, just FYI.

As far as adoption being an option, abortion is just as much an option, and, BTW, none of your damn business. How would you like anyone other than yourself dictating these things to you under the same circumstances. You would go through the roof if it concerned your OWN freedoms and self-determination. So easy to dictate your will on others, isn't it, you hideous, evil witch!! Your comments get more and more demented and crazy. Again, you have the RIGHT to say and believe anything - and again, that is not the point. Being stupid, ignorant, etc. etc. is the right of anyone. But, the fact remains: you are stupid, ignorant, and so astonishingly cruel and mean-spirited. And, once again, you continue to advertise your stupidity - and, by extension, brag and take pride in same. One has to wonder: why?? But, keep those comments coming. You keep us amused and entertained. And maybe one day you'll take my advice and just SHUT THE HELL UP!! You sure have a big mouth for someone with such a small brain.

I have no problem with people who condem me for whatever..that's just their right as Americans and for that right I am thankful and I will, when I feel the urge do the same in their direction. Can't take the heat get out of the kitchen and all that...as the saying goes. To air our frustrations is a good thing and to take the mud slinging along with the clean water is just all a part of the freedom of expression. Not all very PC sometimes but then the real world isn't either in general. Someone condeming me for whatever may just make them feel better..but it's what they say beyond that doing so often blocks the thoughts of others as to what else they had to say. To disagree in whatever manner one feels they must is fine I think, to condem just not PC perhaps unless it is via a so called Christian, then it's personal to their God me thinketh if to no other. That's their Gods job, not theirs and he makes that point very clear in the bible.
