Perry: Climate Change Is A Hoax Invented By Dollar-Hungry Scientists – VIDEO

Texas Governor Rick Perry is a conservative Republican, and as such he does not believe that climate change is caused by human activity.

But on a campaign stop in Bedford, New Hampshire on Wednesday, August 17, Perry went one step further than most in the climate change denier community, proclaiming his belief that scientists drum up phony climate change data in order to make money.

As Talking Points Memo points out, climate skeptics love Perry, and this kind of rhetoric is why.

While Mitt Romney is out and about on the campaign trail agreeing with the overwhelming scientific status quo on the topic, Perry appears poised to take up a view of climate change on the presidential campaign trail that would be right at home in a Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) floor speech.

Wait – doesn’t Perry have a degree in animal science from Texas A&M?

Idiocy abounds in the Perry household. Climate scientists have been accused by the right wing for years of backing the theory to get more money, when the fact is that the only ones getting rich from the climate debate are the ones employed by the oil companies to lie about it.

Put politicians on minimal wages and watch how fast things change....this man is an insult to his country, defending his piece of cake from being shared by more people.

About Henrik Svensmark, climate physicist – solar activity/climate changes
Prof. Henrik Svensmark leads the Center for Sun-Climate Research at the National Space Institute in the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). The center investigates the connection between solar activity and climatic changes on Earth. He previously held research positions at the University of California Berkeley, the Nordic Institute of Theoretical Physics, the Niels Bohr Institute and the Danish Meteorological Institute. He has published more than 50 scientific papers on theoretical and experimental physics, including a succession of landmark papers on climate physics. Svensmark received the Knud Højgaard Anniversary Research Prize in 1997 and the Energy-E2 Research Prize in 2001. Graduate education - Ph.D. degree from the Physics Laboratory I, Technical University of Denmark, 1987. Master of Science in Engineering (Cand. Polyt), Physics Laboratory I, The Technical University of Denmark.

And David C - You said "Bottom line - I'm not going to believe anything from the NIPCC until I've seen a critique of their conclusions by true - apolitical - scientists". The true scientists that have devoted their lives to these studies and contributed to the NIPCC report might (should) be offended. A true intellectual or scientist would read and analyze these works, and then form an opinion as to their worthiness or explore the possibility that the works are apolitical rather than good science. Prejudgment and blind adherence to specific schools of thought are not part of the scientific process. They are, in fact, a hindrance to the process.

David C. - You said "I'm skeptical of any scientific or pseudo-scientific organization that is political in its motivation". I guess that means except the alarmist views of the the gang that believes CO2 causes catastrophic global heating. The good science found in the NIPCC
was here long before the global warming CO2 scam. Good science can never be motivated by seeking a particular answer or for greed. I notice the Republican House has defunded US participation in the IPCC, presumably because they realize the political manipulation of the scientific process. I find the science in this NIPCC report (only 8 hours of review), the ice core studies, the archeological studies, the atmospheric studies, and the satellite data studies to be excellent. Climatology is unbelievably complex; therefore, very careful attention must be placed on conclusions made by only looking at part of the data. The CO2 global warming alarmists fell into this trap or were forced into this trap by political funding and pressures. Either way, the US needs a more comprehensive study of climate change and a careful review of the resulting conclusions before putting billions of tax dollars into this basket. I am not a republican or democrat, but an independent that tends toward Libertarian views and am concerned about the strength of our democratic system.

@william G

Thanks for the link. I've skimmed the report. Plan to read it more carefully in the future. However, I'm skeptical of any scientific or pseudo-scientific organization that is political in its motivation. The NIPCC is a right wing organization. Politics has no place in science. Science deals with what is or is not. Good science can never be motivated by seeking a particular answer. I notice the Republican House has defunded US participation in the IPCC, presumably because they don't like the answers it provides.

Bottom line - I'm not going to believe anything from the NIPCC until I've seen a critique of their conclusions by true - apolitical - scientists.

Thanks again for providing the background.

David C - This reference will take you to chapter 2 climate forcing - Detailed cosmic ray scientific studies have been ongoing. Due to lack of funding and difficulty in getting scientific papers published (politics), progress has been very slow. The science appears to be excellently conducted.

@William G

You'll notice I commented only on the cosmic ray mechanism, not on your NIPCC quote. I didn't find the link. You vastly overstated the cosmic ray paper conclusions so - to tell you the truth, I don't find you a credible source. If you could provide a link, I'd like to read the NIPCC report for myself.

It's crazy how they twist things around - Scientist have created this elaborate hoax to make money? Really?

It's so plain to see that the Big Oil/Coal/Fracking Industry benefits by the BILLIONS and is behind the "climate change hoax." You can trace the money that goes into republican lawmakers campaign funds. You can trace the dollars behind groups such as "Americans for Prosperity" to Big Oil Billionaire Koch Brothers.

You see it in the republicans effort to defund the EPA, roll back the Clean Air/Water act. They've been writing Bill after Bill, Rider after Rider trying to do this to "create jobs." And people believe it.

It all relates to how Big Fossil Fuel Industry is controling our lawmakers, republicans in particular. They are willing to sacrifice the health of the American people, the environment, the very water we drink and the air we breath to make money that DOES NOT trickle down.

Massay Mines in West VA is a mountain top removal coal-mining operation that actually blows the mountain off of the coal. They have safety violations a mile long. Former CEO Don Blankenship is a native WV and built his mansion home in WV. When the water became contaminated by the coal slurry, he paid to have a water line built so he could have safe water, and could care less that his neighbors had contaiminated water and were dying of cancer at an alarming rate.

These are the people behind climate change hoax. I hard for me to believe that people buy this. It total

David C. - How much clearer does this statement need to be? The 2011 Interim Report from the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC) states “Natural causes are very likely to be the dominant cause of climate change that took place in the twentieth and at the start of the twenty-first centuries. We are not saying anthropogenic greenhouse gases (GHG) cannot produce some warming or have not in the past. Our conclusion is that the evidence shows they are not playing a substantial role.” The CO2 global warming scam is coming to an end. We need to get back to unmolested science! We all need to be looking at the 'deniers' for guidance. We need to look at their scientific evidence to better protect our future and redirect the trillions of dollars that have been misdirected in this scam. Mankind's future is at stake.
