Women Should Not Have the Right to Vote

That's what conservative writer John Derbyshire told radio host Alan Colmes yesterday during an on air interview. Derbyshire is a columnist for the National Review and just published a book titled We Are Doomed: Reclaiming Conservative Pessimism which, as reported by ThinkProgress, contains a section called “The Case Against Female Suffrage.”
Alan Colmes tweeted about his interview with Derbyshire Tuesday night (of course I had a comment or two) in which Derbyshire claimed that the country was better off when women didn't have the vote and that women "lean far to the left" as voters.

Hilariously, Derbyshire is also famous for writing that Jennifer Aniston was too old to pose topless in GQ at 36 (scroll down to the "Jennifer's bristols" section).
Mr. Derbyshire is an expert on the female form AND the female mind!

DERBYSHIRE: Among the hopes that I do not realistically nurse is the hope that female suffrage will be repealed. But I’ll say this – if it were to be, I wouldn’t lose a minute’s sleep.
COLMES: We’d be a better country if women didn’t vote?
DERBYSHIRE: Probably. Don’t you think so?
COLMES: No, I do not think so whatsoever.
DERBYSHIRE: Come on Alan. Come clean here [laughing].
COLMES: We would be a better country? John Derbyshire making the statement, we would be a better country if women did not vote.
DERBYSHIRE: Yeah, probably.

I think I'll vote for him to keep his vote as, the right for all to vote is important. However, what a lovely world it would be if all voted how I wanted. (ha ha).
looking at the poll Mr Derbyshire would have lost his right to vote. Isn't there a term for banning certain groups of the general public from voting?
I'm wondering if what was said has been taken out of context? Lets hope so.

I am a Conservative but this guy is nuts! I never heard of him, but I now live in Austria, so I haven't heard of a lot of the new people since I left twenty years ago. Man, I may be radical against muslims and the Demon party, but never against women! What would this world be like without the common sense and stability of women? Yea, I know, some of them, like Pelosi, who make you see that God can make mistakes, or maybe it is her genetics, but she is an exception. I would much rather take the advice of a trusted female friend than one of my crazy male buddies. Except for fighting in a battle, I prefer women as companions. That does not mean woman cannot fight in a battlefield situation, I have seen many that were better than the males, and braver! I don't want them in battle because I love and want to protect them too much.
Yea, Dingleberry, oops, Derbyshire must have some real problems! Giv'em Hell, Women!

Mr. Derbyshire--maybe YOU shouldn't have the right to vote, since you seem to be out of sync with over 50% of American voters, not to mention the men who vote against you.

Mr. Derbyshire is an expert on mysogynist stupidity. And probably a warmonger. Women tend to prefer peace more than men (no offense to the men who also want peace--we need you), so yes, let's by all means take away women's rights so we can have more really fun bloody wars, and since we're not smart enough to vote, our tears over the dead and injured will prove that we are unfit to vote. Who is this guy and why is he given the time of day? I could go on all day. This issue was resolved properly decades ago. Maybe someone could put him in a time machine and send him back to the stone age. We do not need him here.

this is a joke! it's good to laugh but not at women's costs! i thought cromagnon people lived many, many centuries ago, it seems there is still a lot going around! it's really sad to know about this fact when we are trying to be all equal, with open minds to everything.....this man has a desease, a social desease, we have to study and understand how he came to this and then change him to see that we are all brothers, men and women, we all deserve to be in this planet as equals......how can we go forward when we have people thinking like this? it's a hard way but peace, love and understanding one day will prevail.
