Rep. Allen West: If You Objected To My Tirade, You’re Probably Racist

Republican Congressman Allen West would like to have you know that the rumors of him apologizing to fellow Florida Representative, Democrat Debbie Wasserman Shultz, are greatly exaggerated.

In fact, he has no intentions of apologizing to her for calling her “vile” or telling her she’s “not a lady.” So stop asking him.

By the way, if you object to what he said, odds are you are a racist liberal who finds him threatening “because I’m the guy that got off their 21st-century plantation.”  Besides, he’s not being rude, he just doesn’t know how to do “DC talk.”  Did he mention he was in the military?

Oh, and stop talking about his fight with Wasserman Schultz.  It’s insulting to Americans.

In other words, everyone is to blame for the Congressman’s sexist attack.  Everyone, that is, but the Congressman himself.

For CHRISTOPHER S.: Debbie Wasserman Schultz sparked West's response, (arguably, according to some commentators) by going wide of the "Decorum & Civility In the House" Rules, which stipulate

"A Member must stand while speaking and address the Chair in their remarks (Mister or Madam Speaker; Mister or Madam Chairman). They must also refrain from addressing other Members, the President, the gallery, or the television viewing audience."

It's Parliamentary tradition, along with the mace (traditionally used on the offending Member when decorum was being deliberately flouted). Obviously the exchange wasn't that hasty. I hope this exceeds the standards you apply to fellow Democrats.

KENNETH M.: So someone catalogued ant farts? I guess "Some things DO amuse small minds -- and smaller minds took notice." You definitely fall into the latter category!

Don't blame me; you did it to yourself...

Allen West is the vile one. Maybe he thinks he's lady-like? LOL, what a stubborn, ignorant ass.

Hey Tom Y. Since you have no meaningful response to Christopher, I have to conclude that if they measured your mental power in units of ant farts, you'd measure 3.

Why do you Teatards come on here, with your drive-by rants and sophomoric analyses, and then fade back under the rocks when people attempt to engage you in a discussion and some cogent analysis? I know the answer, but do you?

Very clever Tom Y. In defense of your man-child, West, you simply took the opportunity to repeat his offensive temper tantrum. What makes you think it's going to work this time since it brought him only shame the first time he sent it? But my real question for you, since you are such an expert on House rules, exactly which House rules did Wassermann Shultz breach?... Just one... Anything?... Yeah, that's what I thought.

The way to get the full story on this one is to hear the Debbie Wasserman Shultz provocation: By alluding to West at all she breached House rules. And feigning victimhood after the fact was her attempt at moral high ground from which to sling mud -- specifically at Allen West.

West should be applauded for firing back. In fact, he is -- firing back, and being applauded!

"Look, Debbie, I understand that after I departed the House floor you directed your floor speech comments directly towards me. Let me make myself perfectly clear, you want a personal fight, I am happy to oblige. You are the most vile, unprofessional ,and despicable member of the US House of Representatives. If you have something to say to me, stop being a coward and say it to my face, otherwise, shut the heck up. Focus on your own congressional district!"

Even though West is not qualified to say who is, or is not, a lady, he sure does know how to act like a spoiled little girl.

Victoria: I appreciate the sentiment, but I know you're speaking metaphorically. To that end, Daily Kos has a support program for a wonderful lady candidate who will be taking him out (I mean on) in 2012.

Sir West, would you please be so kind as to define ' a lady' so we all could know how to behave and not disturb your delicate sensibilities?

No, really. If he accuses her of not being a lady then he must have a definition of lady. I'd like to know it.
