Rick Santorum Suspends Presidential Campaign

Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum is announcing that he will be suspending his campaign. Santorum, who’s daughter was recently released after being hospitalized for a complication from her Trisomy, had earlier announced that he was resuming campaign activities.  But a few hours later he called a press conference, providing word that he would no longer be pursuing the presidential nomination.

Surrounded by his family, Santorum thanked many volunteers and his supporters, ranging from the “Game On” girls to the Duggar family.  He also thanked his sweater vest — which ended up creating jobs in Bemidji, MN, wool mill.

“It wasn’t my voice I was communicating, it was your voice,” Santorum said.  “You have given a voice to so many who were voiceless.”

“We won 11 states,” Santorum noted.  “We won millions of votes.  We made a decision to get into this race at the kitchen table against all odds, and we made the decision at our kitchen table that although this race is done for me, we are not done fighting.”

The move is good news for both Mitt Romney, now the undeniable nominee for president, as well as the full Republican party, who is anxious to move out of primary mode and into a general election battle against President Barack Obama.  The GOP is no doubt ready to see if they can begin to win back approval that has been steadily decreasing as the protracted, bitter primary battle waged on. However, Santorum very deliberately did not endorse Romney, making unity still just out of reach.

Santorum is a far-right radical, an anti-environmentalist, and a bigoted lunatic; but at least he took a stand against Puppy Mills in PA. I don't think Romney has ever done anything for animal welfare.

My Americans friends can now feel easier with the exit of Santorum, now you don't have to worry about being scare; but only bored. Will Romney be able to carry the mad Christian right? They do worry about his Conservative credentials.

Good riddance !
Now the real race starts : Romney / Obama. Who has the best spin doctors in the house ?
Stay tuned, this should make for one of the worst, most dirty, below-the-belt, ugly, vicious race ever !

Bye bye, Ricky. And yet, the Newton Leroy Gingrich Juggernaut continues to lumber on and on promising to continue to the bitter end. It's like Romney has a mischievous but relatively harmless comic side-kick who keeps taking meaningless jabs at him. American politics---you gotta love the parts of it you can stomach and hate the rest.
