Today Fox News will be announcing which candidates will be participating in their debate this week, and if you are underwhelmed at the choices, you aren’t alone. In fact, the Republican National Committee is working hard to keep their members’ spirits up, promising them that if they just wait, a better potential presidential candidate may still declare him or herself.
Via U.S. News:
The pool of GOP White House hopefuls could be getting bigger. Last week, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour jumped out and Rep. Ron Paul dipped his toes in, but Republican National Committee chief Reince Priebus says some surprise candidates are waiting to jump in. “The very idea of America is at stake in this next election,” Priebus says. “Many people are going to feel compelled to get into the race.”
So how might that mythical, perfect future candidate be? Priebus isn’t really sure. But one thing is for certain — if he’s telling people to hold on, because a better candidate is around the corner, doesn’t that mean even he thinks the people in it so far aren’t that great?
And if so, what happens if that’s really all they have?
