Santorum Leads Attacks On Gingrich’s Abortion Record

Santorum Leads Attacks On Gingrich’s Abortion Record

It’s little wonder that former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich is starting to fade in Iowa.  Although Congressman Ron Paul has been hitting him aggressively in ads, and former Governor Mitt Romney has been attacking him on his ethics, perhaps the one actually causing the most damage is former Senator Rick Santorum.

Already endorsed by one key evangelical leader in the state, Santorum has been battering Gingrich over the one issue that no one can really hold a candle to Santorum on — abortion.

Santorum has been fighting hard to position himself as “the only true conservative in the race.”  And part of making that title stick is showing where Gingrich falls short, especially on social issues like abortion.   He’s lashed out at Gingrich, saying that while he was Speaker he pushed social issues like abortion to the “back of the bus.” “[H]e was not a pro-life warrior, that was not his gig….He was someone who was interested in reducing taxes and Reaganomics but he was never someone who would go to the well as a member and fight the wars on the pro-life front.”

Santorum continued that line of attack at the Huckabee anti-abortion screening this week (brilliantly covered by “Women Are Watching”) .  “I have some problems with some of the folks, you know, running for office these days when they say, ‘I believe life begins at conception.’ It’s like (saying), ‘I believe the sun rises.’ Why would you say you believe something that’s a fact?”

And Santorum is not alone. Iowa Prolife Action has been issuing robocalls to caucus goers that reiterate the Santorum abortion concerns.  “Dear friend of the unborn as we approach the Iowa Caucuses, it’s important for is to know who supports the rights of the unborn and who just talks the talk. You see while multiple GOP nominees may be trying to hide their views on life Newt Gingrich’s record is clear. Gingrich used his power as Speaker of the House to fight for abortion rights for women in nearly all cases. Gingrich threatened pro-life legislators who were fighting for unborn babies, calling those pro-life legislators ‘extreme’. Newt said they were going to ‘get hurt’. Gingrich even taught pro-abortion legislators how to use parliamentary tools to help pass pro-abortion bills. Please take a moment to call Newt’s Iowa office today.”

When all of the anti-choice groups are beginning to line up against you, it’s hard to imagine the Republican nomination remains within reach.

Understand something about Republicans Conservative Christians! Pro Life: What it really means! Republican conservative 'jesus freaks' s want to even make abortion
illegal even if your raped and ever person running for the Republican conservative party has stated that already on TV so it's no secret, so if they become President,
their first agenda is to make it the law! They want you to keep the child that you or your 12 year old daughter had by a rapist. Gee, he goes to jail and comes out a
few years later and gets a lawyer to get him visitation rights and he shows up at your house and knocks on your door, says hello to your husband and says, I came to
visit my child!. Excuse me! You people that want this are either sick or just plain morons or did you not think this thing through to the end result. I guess you are going
to invite him in for a cup of coffee! Next, they will want you to marry your rapist!!

One thing I don't get:
Where are all the Pro-Lifers on the subject of childcare after the children are born?

Though I see Care2 as a "liberal", or "left-leaning", website which strongly supports abortion rights, I must commend them for this very accurate article. Whatever one believes on the issue, they should find this article factual and informative.

Really? Like social issues are the answer to what ails this country! We need jobs and real environmental laws to protect our planet. Social issues are private matters. Of course all those idiots are in the pockets of the corporations and they don't speak for us the constituents.

The sad thing is all these morons should have been aborted, so we could have had better lives.

Forgive a Brit's ignorance, but has this picture been photoshopped or does he actually look like that?

Just wondering.
