Santorum: Obama Should Be Anti-Abortion Since He’s Black [VIDEO]

Should race make a difference when it comes to believing a woman should have the right to choose when to have a baby?  Former Senator Rick Santorum, who is toying with a run for President, believes it should, and finds it “almost remarkable” that a black man wouldn’t be anti-abortion.

Via News One:

In an interview with CNS News on Thursday, former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum launched an attack on President Barack Obama over the issue, questioning his stance based on race.

Santorum:

“The question is, and this is what Barack Obama didn’t want to answer — is that human life a person under the constitution?” he said. “And Barack Obama says no. Well if that human life is not a person then I find it almost remarkable for a black man to say ‘now we are going to decide who are people and who are not people.’”

The anti-choice community has focused a great deal of attention on race-based campaigns against reproductive rights, from calling African-Americans an “endangered species” because of abortion to comparing fertilized eggs to pre-civil war slaves during the Colorado “Personhood” campaign.

He is an evil buffoon who the sane and humane in our country need work together to snuff out his hate forums. It really annoys me that he can be so pompous and reckless in stereotyping & dictating how individuals surely must or must not run their lives.
I don't remember the last time I was invited to eat dinner at his house where he got to know me ....I guess he only invites blacks and gays because he sure seems to have an indepth knowledge of how they run their lives....Geez , why can't these tea partyers just mind their own underpants!

and of course a white man should be the one to force an answer to such a question and then say the answer ends up being a race issue???? Under the constitution an embryo is not a citizen yet. --- and it does not matter if you are black or white, the words do not change.
Ignorance comes in every color and you manage to prove it every time you open your mouth Santorum.

Santorum is typical of right-wing idiots, in this case stereotyping.
All (fill in the blank) do not have the same ideals, beliefs or views. These right-wingers have never been able to see this.

I didn't mention the black approach to Santorum's thinking.......did he also note that Obama is half white??
It hurts my teeth to say the word Santorum. He's a racist like the Pauls'.

Obama has already stated that his religious belief is one of anti-abortion. But, as a politician he must do what is socially responsible so, although he does not proport abortion he will not stand in the way of a woman's right to choose.

Santorum is......well, you know.

Stupid question and I will not answer. Just as gays do not ALL think alike (hint: they're individuals), just so, blacks do not ALL think alike (they also, are individuals).

And for the 11,000th time, right to choose is for the adult woman citizen to make for herself, not the fetus choosing.

Dan O., your comments are tyical of a man who has never been, nor ever will be faced with having to make a decision on what goes on in a female's body. Until YOU, personally have that responsibility and are faced with such choices, your not in a position to judge.

Getting back on topic, I find this politician's remarks about as asinine as any I've ever heard, but tyical of many conservative members of the G.O.P. Abortion should be available for every woman that wants one, regardless of race, providing limitations in place now regarding "terms", etc...........the same as any other health issue. Being black, white, green or striped shouldn't be a factor, anymore than it would be to address cancer, diabetes or heart problems.

Granted, back in the 60's, there was some sort of issue, and the founder or one of the top people were racist. Rather than having it say an opinion of the past of an individual, they want to say the whole agency (still, 50 years later) is racist against black people.

Thing is, being sensitive to race relations was more of a liberal issue, but I guess the conservatives hate abortion so much that they'll take the race issue as their own.

Anyway, the law really needs to stay out of this issue, since for the most part, it's between a woman (and her POA) and her doctor. No normal person or doctor would suggest having a late term abortion unless the mother was face to face with an emergency life/death situation. Anyone else is a bit sick in the head. It's supposed to be within the first 13 weeks, and up to 20 weeks, as anything after 20 weeks, you're talking a viable life form.
