Santorum: Social Security Wouldn’t Be an Issue If Abortion Were Abolished

Former Senator Rick Santorum is hitting the early primary states again, although he hasn’t made a presidential bid official yet.  Santorum has been cozying up to his anti-abortion base, though, now declaring that abortion is the reason why Social Security may not have enough funding.

Via SeattlePI:

The former Pennsylvania senator and potential presidential candidate was asked about Social Security during an interview on WESZ-AM radio in Laconia on Tuesday morning.

He says the system has design flaws, but the reason it is in big trouble is that there aren’t enough workers to support retirees. He blamed that on what he called the nation’s abortion culture. He says that culture, coupled with policies that do not support families, deny America what it needs – more people.

Santorum has been hitting the abortion meme hard on campaign trail this cycle.  Earlier he attempted to explain how he didn’t understand how President Obama could be pro-choice since he’s African American.

Of course, there are other issues with Social Security, like the fact that the cap on what is taxable is so low, or that we could grant amnesty to illegal immigrants to get their pay on the books, adding to the amount that would be going in.

Or, we could note that Social Security really isn’t in that much risk, at least, not in the short term.  But that would be awfully hard for Republicans to campaign on.

This man is psychotic. So drunk on right wing garbage he can hardly use ordinary words. He certainly has lost his ability to reason so overrun with paranoid emotions he does not function responsibly. I guess the arguement here is that there are so many abortions that the population is shrinking and this is why no one is shopping? I'm sorry, dude. First of all, every state has limits on how many you can get to start with and the idea that there are a lot of women so irresponsible that they use abortion as their birth control is ridiculous. I knew only one in my lifetime and this was my cousin. Didn't believe in birth control because she had bought the idea that it would "hurt her body"; wouldn't get her tubes tied because she'd be "less of a wo-man" and used abortion as her solution until they cut her off and she started adopting them out. You would not want to populate the world with her kids, beleive me. Anyways, this arguement is ridiculous. We can't feed the kids we have. But Repugs don't worry about that. They just want all these hungry, dirty, abused children running around and then, once their breathing and growing, they want to cut off their social services so they really do starve. I think these people are sadists. That is the only thing that makes sense to me. This man is insane and sadistic. End of story.

This type of thinking and actually talking about it comes from the rise of the TP. The TP made it OK to be ignorant and furthet made it OK to talk about prejudices and "isms". It also uplifted the trully crazy folks in this country, allowing them to be heard as they spout their outrageous lies and to manipulate the gvt process. this is just another example of class warfare: the more people there are, competing for jobs, the lower the wages will be. So, the rich become obscenely rich and everyone else become serfs. No more middle class. And because there will be minimal education and almost no healthcare for us, we will die off quickly. Go read history about the robber barons and what society was like back then, because it's close to happening again.
And to think none of this would have happened if Obama was white.
