Skinheads Sentenced to Work at Holocaust Museum

346 comments Skinheads Sentenced to Work at Holocaust Museum

In Argentina, two skinheads were convicted of vandalizing a synagogue and other buildings with anti-Semitic graffiti. They were sentenced to 100 hours of community service at a soup kitchen, but a second part of their punishment has made headlines. They also were sentenced to work as janitors for fifty hours in Buenos Aires’ Holocaust museum and will have to participate in “educational and cultural” activities offered by the museum.

This seems like it could be extremely successful or extremely disastrous. On the one hand, the men will learn more about the Holocaust and Jewish culture, which could possibly provoke them to question their beliefs. On the other hand, being inside the museum and working in close proximity to Jewish people could tempt them to commit more hateful acts. However the museum’s director Graciela Jinich says this is not the first time the museum has received people convicted of hate crimes.

Only time will tell what will happen, but this sentence will certainly be more life-changing than prison.

I really hope it works!

That's a bad idea to force them to work at a Holocaust Museum. It doesn't necessarily change their behavior, attitudes and beliefs... They should be arrested and/or go to rehab/counseling.

Outrageous. Like the German son of a Nazi doing community service by meeting with a 100 year old holocaust survivor (the movie Facing Arthur), which is genocide, attempted murder by mental distress of the elderly man. There should be a class action suit against all organizations and governments that are allowing this further abuse of elderly holocaust survivors, even if there is no abuse. The elderly man asserted the german man is his enemy coming to visit him. This is enough right there to sue. Absolutely outrageous.

Much hate is based off ignorance, so this is a wonderful punishment that will hopefully teach them something about the people they blindly hate.

I think this is a great punishment for them. I do sincerely hope they learn something about the people they hate and realize they were wrong in thier ways.
