No, they aren’t planning to physically follow them anywhere (at least, not yet). Instead, the Tea Party has announced a new program where a blogger will “adopt” a House or Senate member to track and report on his or her votes, statements and public appearances.
Via USA Today:
The Tea Party Patriots, one of the largest organizing groups of the movement, want to assign personal bloggers to track every member of Congress, not just the ones they supported.
The group will launch a recruitment drive this week coinciding with a weekend policy summit being held in Phoenix for state and local coordinators. Shelby Blakely, a stay-at-home mom from eastern Washington state who is organizing the project, said she has little doubt they will be able to round up enough people to tackle a job that she describes as “citizen journalism meets adopt-a-congressman.”
“One of the strengths that the Tea Party has is we have a massive army,” Blakely said. “We have millions of manpower hours and thousands of people willing to do heavy lifting.”
There are already dozens of political and news websites that track the big picture of Congress. Hometown newspapers, TV stations and websites sometimes track individual members of Congress.
The Tea Party Patriots believe a centralized hub for member-by-member blogs would not only hold their Tea Party legislators accountable but would better highlight for voters how non-Tea Party legislators are voting in Washington.
The Tea Partiers claim they will be a conservative counterbalance to the “biased” mainstream media and the numerous “liberal outfits” blogging about Congress, forgetting that they already have Fox News, Washington Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, Drudge, Hot Air, Politico, Powerline, etc. in place to do exactly what they are proposing.
But if the Tea Party Patriots do manage to create a technologically sound website that will gather together all of their tracking of each and every member of Congress, frankly, it would be a tool of interest to many who report on politics. I for one would love to be able to access a daily record of each minute detail of every single Congressperson, even if the actions are all filtered through a Tea Party lens.
Good luck, Patriots. I’ll be anxiously awaiting your new website.

it's always so breath taking to see someone resque animals and see the enourmous love for animals.
Great idea and clearly beneficial to all involved, keep at it!
Great news, it's time this was a worldwide ban. So many chickens have a miserable short life.

+ add your ownTana yes we should deregulate most industries, oil being the first. When we get over 50% of are oil from these top 3 countries, Canada/Mexico and Saudi Arabia, when in fact the USA holds the most oil then all of theses countries combined. Have you ever heard of the Bakken, which is Montana/N.Dakota and Canada the EIA says there are 503 billion barrels. Now even if only 10% is recoverable at $107 a barrel we have a resource base of more than $5.3 trillion, and because it is sweet oil it would cost us only $16 a barrel. That's enough oil to run this country for 2041 straight years why must we pay for oil from someone else?
Helen thanks for pointing out the lack of jobs, need i remind you who has had total control of the Senate/house/ and the presidents office the last 4 years. Add to that all the committees were run by the demo's which also had the majority of the members so stop blaming the repubs, there was a reason they were a party of no! I guess it to hard for you to look back oh lets say 2006 and tell me you weren't better off for everything. Yes all subsidies must go, just look at corn for one example, now we pay more for everything because of it, and that is just one.
Every single Republican voted to keep the billions in subsidies for the 5 largest oil companies, which means we pay taxes to support them. ( Subsidies- financial assistance paid to a business or economic sector paid by the government (i.e. taxpayers) to producers or distributors in an industry to prevent the decline of that industry- Wikipedia). Please write to republican representatives and senators from your state and john Boehner (johnboehner.com) and to the rnc.org and ask them to give you one GOOD reason for voting for this. And remind them that it is not about the jobs because in the past 6 years they have substantially reduced their jobs. (tell them that in your message). The oil companies made over a trillion dollars in profits. Please tweet, facebook, email everyone you know and ask them to do the same and pass it on to their friends. Somehow, this party of no seems to think we are to stupid to figure out who owns them.
PS, us lefties have been peacefully demonstrating since the 1960s, can you righties say the same?
John K, you are a typical loony far righter who's attitude seems to be "If you not with us, you are against us". From the little bit I got to see before the pop-up insisting that I join covered the screen, I saw typical rabid lies about the Dems and their supporters. Truth is, Republicans have been trying to bust the unions since they were first created back in the 30s. They took to tring to bust them after their violent and deadly opposition to them failed. And so the TPGOP has demonized the unions, especially the teachers union, in order to finally give the new "robber barons" what it so desparately wants-no unions. WI unions already did all the give-backs requested, so why won't Walker compromize? Maybe because he's afraid he won't get re-elected? Because that's all everything boils down to today-I wanna be re-elected. What do you think is going to happen when the TPGOP trolls supporters find out that this is going to affect them too? That's why the exempted police and fire unions are supporting the demonstraters, even though their unions are exempt? Because they know they are being played and that they will be next.
@MarLeah Manning. Check this link out and try to refute any part of it. Fact of the matter is, the protests in WI show exactly what public unions are all about--thuggery. You are a typical looney leftist who only sees what you want to.

@Patricia S - Where is your proof that someone hit Tobin?, because the camera conveniently cuts away as that alledgedly happened. You all heard the conversation between the fake Koch brother and Walker - the right is trying their hardest to make these PEACEFUL protests something they're not!! Even if they have to bus in fake protestors and pay them to be violent. Shameful!! They just hate that the left can protest peacefully and they can't! Then I decided to look at her profile and I thought you all might find it interesting.
Her Groups are: Former Silent Majority, Tea Party (NO surprise!), The Free & The Brave (a group opposed to Political Correctness) and We The Sheeple (a group opposing corporations picking Presidents - how ironic, huh?). She is here for: OTHER - not to support a cause or make a difference! I suppose her "other" is to try to incite arguments. Her eating habits: Often (*snicker!!!*) - I am VERY SURE!! What scares her? "The way this country is going." - sure, I'm scared too, of what the repukes are trying to do! Under Profession, she has NOTHING listed - I can only imagine she doesn't work. Her hometown? Epping, NH - (as of 2000 census results) 97.08% White (no surprise there), 0.27% African American, 0.24% Native American. Median income of $54,722 - gee, must be nice to live in Utopia, according to a Republican, huh? Now we all know where she is coming from when she posts. She has 7 "friends" who all also try to incite discourse.
Sir Walk, Sarcasm is a wonderful thing, especially when it is so well written. The problem, of course, is that one needs to know what is actually going on. If a group, such as Politico, is tracking politicians, that is public interest. If a single person with an agenda is following, in all ways, another single person, then that is indeed stalking. Further, in case you haven't noticed, since the Tea Party's birth the notions of tolerance and education are a thing of the past for so many Americans. They have been given permission to allow all their "isms" to come out and much ignorance to blossom. The new Republican party's only agenda is to cut the rug out from under the poor and the middle class while bolstering the incomes of the very rich. If the TP is so concermed about what is actually happening, why are they pushing so hard to deregulate almost every industry and bust all the unions, leaving the rest of us to suffer the results. Because the TP puppetmasters are manipulating them. And these people don't have a clue as to what is going to happen to them because they are lemmings following the direction of the Kochs and those like them without understanding that the outcomes will affect them too. As for the "grass roots' TP, they were formed by the astroturf TP and the astroturf TP was founded by....the Koch boys. Cause and effect, too bad so many can't see that one follows the other.
