Truck With 113 Puppies Crashes On Autobahn

Truck With 113 Puppies Crashes On Autobahn

Motorists on Germany’s autobahn got an unexpected look at how young puppies are transported from puppy farms to big cities when 113 of them spilled onto the highway after a crash.

Police say a truck carrying the puppies crashed in western Germany before dawn on March 1. All but one of the dogs survived the accident.

According to reports the truck slid off an exit ramp on Thursday due to rainy conditions, going through a guard rail and then tipping over.

Sadly one puppy died of its injuries and seven others were “lightly” injured. The 40 year-old driver and his passenger were not hurt. The puppies of various breeds were being transported from Slovakia to Germany and Belgium where they were to be sold.

No charges have been filed against the driver. There is no further news about the condition of the puppies or where they were taken.

It's too bad the driver wasn't surperstitiou (113 puppies). I'm sad for the little guy who died (God rest his little soul), but happy that 112 puppies survived. I hope they all get good loving homes!!

Ban the puppy mill all over the world!

I agree with whoever said, Ban puppy mills WORLDWIDE!! There is no reason to have one other than for the owner to make money.

The worst of it is how they treat the animals. Puppy mill owners NEVER care for the animals they have...i.e. no vet care, improper shelter, improper socialization, food and water given to the animals on an irregular basis. I cannot believe that puppy mills are allowed to exist!

This is a classic case of irresponsible driving - which includes prepare for the unexpected et al. I suggest we "hammer down" and hammer it in to high-profile vehicle drivers to include high-occupancy to "most" instinctively use utmost caution to best safeguard the level of precious cargo - to include others outside the vehicle. Alot is riding on this strategic direction. Superiors within Public Safety, are you at least hearing me? ARE YOU LISTENING NOW? Yes, I have observed and been involved with mishaps along with minor, yet still successful attempts to better safeguard all citizens - from their own self.

Poor pups, thankfully more weren't injured or killed.I adopted my pup from a shelter and rescued 3 others. My shelter pup is a lab mix.We had to take her, she was so excited to meet my husband, she fell into her water bowl, but still kept wagging!
