Tweet @WhiteHouse to Pledge to Save 4 Million Kids With Vaccines
Are you on Twitter? Do you want to help make a difference in the health and lives of people around the world by sending a message to the White House?
@WhiteHouse, got plans on June 13? Why not pledge to save 4m kids w/vaccines? Plz respond!
To send it, just go to here. Once you send your tweet, you’ll see it pop up on an interactive map of the US.
ONE is, as its website says, a “grassroots advocacy and campaigning organization that fights extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa, by raising public awareness and pressuring political leaders to support smart and effective policies and programs that are saving lives, helping to put kids in school and improving futures.”
Noting that “vaccines are the best buy in public health,” ONE needs you to help get the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) proper funding at its June 13th pledging conference. Doing so could help to save the lives of 4 million children in 5 years by making vaccines for pneumonia and diarrhea available. These two diseases are preventable, yet they are “two of the biggest killers of children under five around the world” and, indeed, “kill more children than HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria COMBINED.”
So please don’t wait: Get tweeting and get the message out to the White House that vaccines save lives!
