U.S. Department of the Interior: It Gets Better (VIDEO)

Staff from the U.S. Department of the Interior have recorded a video for the It Gets Better project to let LGBT teens and all those that are bullied know that life does get better.

In the video, various members of the U.S. Department of the Interior talk about what life was like for them when they came out. One woman even discusses how it felt to be made to leave her church because the church pastor didn’t want her as part of the community now she had come out as lesbian.

Yet there is also talk of how life improves with self-acceptance, and how there are people out there just waiting to help anyone that is in distress.

Don’t Suffer in Silence, Get Help

The Trevor Project runs a 24/7 helpline with trained counselors ready to listen if you or someone you know would like to talk about the issues dealt with in this post.

The Trevor Project Helpline number is 1-866-4-U-TREVOR (1-866-488-7386).Trevor Project Links:

Every single one of these videos makes me happy. To have the dept of the interior take time to do this is incredible!

It gets better is a good idea. How about 'We are making it better"? Another idea. Why do these victimized people have to wait until it gets better? Let's fix it now.

The government has no business becoming involved in this type of activity. This is ONLY a social matter and NOT a government matter...like SO MANY other things the government usurps power and position in. The US Constitution gives very few rights to government and to become involved in or dictate personal sexual orientation is WAY off base.
