Protesters in Montreal who oppose the Quebec government’s planned tuition hikes and the new undemocratic Law 78 limiting freedom of expression have been taking to the streets daily and banging pots and pans. Film maker Jérémie Battaglia created a beautiful video, called “Casseroles” set to the music of Quebec band ‘Avec pas d’casque’ that captures the strength of the movement.
The video, posted four days ago, has gone viral with more than 350,000 views so far.
In an interview with CBC’s As It Happens, Battaglia told listeners that Montrealers are going onto the street daily from 8:00pm to 8:15pm with their pots and pans. It is becoming a nightly tradition for many residents, including families, where even young children have the opportunity to have a bit of fun while becoming part of the movement.

So essential to have some cuteness to balance the other news in the world, thank you!
Thank you for the sad article. However, my husband and I honor his father and my ancestors who fought…
Very nice. I hope that they will be taken care of by this young lady as long as the ducks live.

Woow! Beautiful.
Bunch of idiots!
They should have thought of this before the rioting..I think it's good they are doing this for themselves, but there's much bigger things they should be protesting than tuition increases.
The problems from around the world are ALL caused by ONE central group. The few wanting the control of the many will keep us as divided as they can.
I wish us ALL the best of luck because we are ALL going to need it. Take note that the more Americanized they become the worse off they become.
hope that their cassoulet brings the quebec government to the table
In this day and age, limiting FREEDOM of expression? Jeez, what are they really trying to do??
bravo hope that their cassoulet brings them (government) to the table
It's shameful when any government seeks to limit the rights of the people. Glad they aren't taking it lying down. Our founding fathers (USA) said that a good government fears the people and that the people shouldn't have to fear their government. I hope the Canadian people are able to take their government back. Maybe we in the US should take this lesson to heart and man our occupy movement with pots and pans too. Instead of the shot heard round the world it will be the pots and pans heard by the politicians (who should be quaking in fear).
