Who Are the 99%? Story #22

The last time I lost my job, I nearly starved to death.

I donít garden for pleasure. I†grow food because Iím terrified of being that hungry again.

I hope that more people take a cue from this story and begin to grow their own food. We need to become sustainable!

With this rapidly changing world, we find that we must update a post of a few minutes ago, we beg your... oh, what the Heck.

In response to recent accusations that the 1% is out of touch with America's needs, and that they have been wrongfully targeted and they have announced that they will begin a campaign against those traitors to capitalism, those greedy 99% activists.

The 1% have vowed to occupy a Hilton Hotel in every major city in the US, they have further vowed that they will not be removed, no matter how much it costs YOU, the American people.

As an act of reconciliation, the 1% has publicly suggested that all Americans begin to take better care of their cars and vans, they might well become your next home.

We are rapidly approaching a point in time where we must decide our next step for the Occupation Campaign. There are those who are determined on dismantling the effort, they may use standing laws, such as, health regulations, or it may come in the form of violence, or violence injected into the movement, in an effort to discredit our work.

Soon there will be tens of thousands of Vets returning to America and soon to find few jobs and dwindling resources to help in their transition back into American society, that they will join the struggle, in mass. Perhaps this is true but will we still be carrying on the struggle? Will we find the strength to continue? Will we be allowed to continue?

Perhaps we need to take a page from our Arab brothers and sisters that for so long, held Tahrir Square in Cairo. With each passing day, they continued apply pressure to win the support of the Military and much of the police, to prove to them that they too were among the 99%. They won their struggle. Why can't we?

What comes next is likely to be quite unpleasant, few revolutions succeed without violence. The manner in which we continue the struggle is not by our choice, but the opposition knows only violence, they live and thrive on violence and the madness lies in the fact that they are the one 1%.

But wait, things are quite different here in the US, we have too much to lose. Our steel belted radials, on our beloved SUV's. our senseless shopping excursions to the Mall.

Join the Occupy Movement, we're not hard to find. We are in every major city and town and the movement is growing, but we need you, just as you need us, together we are the 99%.

The Question that remains, Do YOU want to be free from this Tyranny...after all, you are America, not this 1%. Question Authority...Demand Answers.

Perhaps we might usher in an American Autumn, something like Egypt's Arab Spring.

Or shall we be afraid?

5:20PM PDT on Nov 4, 2011

Are we to be afraid of those people in the shadows, deciding our fate in some smoke filled back room, this 1%. Remember, these are the very "people" that put Bush and Obama into the White House and your wallet and your future in the outhouse.

Have you ever wondered if on that fateful day in Memphis, was Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. afraid while standing on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel, moments before that shot rang out.

I have often wondered if Gandhi was afraid while listening as the girl accompanying him told Godse, Gandhi's assassin, "Brother, Bapu is already late". Moments before Godse shot him dead.

From the 134 people willing to respond to this article, it appears that most are no longer afraid. That despite the fact of Bush's Over-Throw of the Constitution during that 1st election, that self-inflicted wound known as 911, the "Patriot Act", 2 wars without reason, the housing collapse, having to watch Washington squander the National Treasury and so much more...all of which is enough to steal your voice away.

I ask of you, I demand of you...retake America and your very lives, reclaim your voice.

Join the Occupy Movement, we're not hard to find. We are in every major city and town and the movement is growing, but we need you, just as you need us, together we are the 99%.

Spread the protest.

Corporations have over-powered our government which now believes that out-sourcing and off-shoring of U.S. jobs is inevitable and necessary with expectations that the middle class should fall on their swords. It is the underlying cause of the financial collapse and borders on national security with the loss of our middle class tax base. Yet, this nation does nothing, not even demand it be restricted by whatever method. International businesses are doing the UN-AMERICAN activity of destroying U.S. salaries, U.S. businesses that hire in the U.S., and as an end result, destroying the U.S. marketplace while still demanding BUSINESS ENTITLEMENTS and protections for themselves.

Infrastructure spending and tax breaks will not replace enough jobs to keep up with the hemorrhaging loss of U.S. jobs from out-sourcing over seas. Neither party will do anything about it unless we begin grass roots efforts to protest out-sourcing and off-shoring of U.S. jobs. If nothing is done we will deserve what we get and it will get a lot worse before it gets better.

This is a very sad story!

6:38PM PDT on Nov 3, 2011

You can marginalize the movement all you want folks. It isn't going away. Its going to get larger until the government does something aside from claim "In God we trust" as out national theme.

There people see no future for themselves in this system right now. They see no way to feed their future families. They see no way to buy a home. They see nothing that represents stability in their future. They are pissed and they aren't going to shut up because you don't like the movement.
