We’re fast approaching fall, and you know what that means: Pumpkin spice everything. Specifically, the return of Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes.
While their delicious autumn flavor is so addicting you might need to seek help for it, it also contains some pretty iffy ingredients and is missing a few rather critical ones.
Health blogger Food Babe did a little investigation to discover exactly what’s in the tasty treat. The company was a little vague at first, but she was eventually able to get the truth.
Pumpkin Spice Lattes, among other things, contain at least 50 grams of sugar, and caramel color with ammonia.
Some also contain the dreaded High Fructose Corn Syrup (depending on the store location), and some even have pesticide residue. But here’s the real kicker, not a single latte contains any actual pumpkin.
Give your mind a second to be blown.
They should probably change the name of the drink to Pumpkin-Flavored Latte or Pumpkin-Less Latte.
