Tell Canadian Government Not to Pass New "Fair Elections Act" Bill

The Conservatives are about to introduce a new Fair Elections Act bill. This bill would increase the amount Canadians are permitted to donate to an election campaign, restrict the chief electoral officer's power, and stop the process of allowing voters to vouch for each other.  Tell the Canadian government not to pass this bill, which could negatively impact the democratic process.

Increasing the amount Canadians are permitted to donate to a campaign would clearly hurt the democratic process, as it would give more power to upper-class individuals.  This bill would also restrict the chief electoral officer from determining whether or not investigations into elections should be launched, as well as prevent Elections Canada from creating advertisements to promote voting, both of which would stifle the amount of communication with the public about the democratic and election process. Finally, the bill would stop voters from being able to vouch for one other, which could further reduce the number of young and lower-class individuals voting.

Tell the Canadian government not to pass this new Fair Elections Act bill.
