Texas Recall Law

Regardless of one's political party affiliation, or non-affiliation, the recall of elected or appointed public officials who are not responsive to the people is a must if the people are to effectively remain in charge.  Texas does not have a statewide recall law.  This petition seeks to change that.  The petition will have its critics - local nut jobs will try and recall everyone - yes it could happen - but for now we have nothing.

WE THE PEOPLE OF TEXAS, invoke our reservations of rights as established in the US Constitution, Amendment 9, "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people" and the US Constitution, Amendment 10, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved for the States respectively, or to the people." to reestablish the fundamental right of the people to abolish government not responsive to the people.

WHEREAS: The political structure in the State of Texas no longer serves the people and the people are without recourse for the removal of elected or appointed officials of all political parties, or as independents, or in non-partisan elections:


RESOLVED: WE THE PEOPLE DEMAND, Governor Rick Perry immediately convene a Special Legislative Session to create a statewide law which provides for the People to recall any and all elected or appointed officials We The People deem to not be serving the ends of government for which they were elected or appointed.
