Ban Capuchin Monkeys as Private Pets!

Crystal the capuchin monkey starred in The Hangover II and Night at the Museum, and will soon star in the upcoming NBC series Animal Practice. Crystal's role in the two popular films has already created a demand for capuchin monkeys as pets, and her appearance in the new sitcom is sure to increase that demand.

According to Brooke Aldrich, campaign manager of a primate sanctuary in Cornwall, England, most people who obtain capuchins don't understand what is involved in caring for them and don't bother to obtain a license for them. Owners are likely to keep the monkeys in cruel conditions as they underestimate their pets' needs.

The sales of capuchin monkeys as private pets must be stopped as soon as possible. Please urge U.S. legislators to ban the practice.

To: U.S. Legislators

We are concerned that capuchin monkeys are becoming trendy among pet owners.
