Please raise the minimum wage. People can not live on $7.25 an hour. In the United States, no one that works full time, should be poor enough to qualify for government assistance.
Not only is it the morally right thing to do, it is the smart thing. If you raise the minimum wage, millions of people will no longer qualify for food stamps. These people are not like the extremely wealthy that will just stash their money in offshore bank accounts. They will spend every extra dime.
This will boost demand for goods and services, and thus result in more people being hired. Raise the minimum wage to at least 10.10 per hour. If it is easier to phase it in over a one or three year, period, that is fine. But it NEEDS to be raised.
