Fly The Deep Space Climate Observatory on its Original Mission

The only satellite ever built by NASA but not launched is $100 million in climate data gathering sensor capabilities, sitting in a warehouse in Maryland -- for the last 10 years.  Read this outstanding Popular Science article by the perservering Bill Donahue:  Who Killed The Deep Space Climate Observatory. Instead of repurposing DSCOVR to study space weather, we need it for its original mission: to study the Earth's climate.  Help gather more scientific data about our world, sign this petition to launch the satellite designed to do just that.

We, the undersigned, feel that collecting scientific data about Earth's climate and its ongoing change should be one of our highest priorities. We call for you launch The Deep Space Climate Observatory, as soon as possible, on its original mission: to collect earth climate data.  Climate change is of vital importance to Americans and all of humanity, and more objective information is better than less.  For 10 long critical years have we been blind to the vantage point the DSCOVR satellite offers. Launch this bird now, for its original intent: to be one of our main climate-eyes-in-the-sky. Thanks for listening to those that value science, objective data, and understanding our planet.
