Tell the UK Government: Ban Greyhound Racing!

  • by: S. Miljenko

Every year in the UK tens of thousands of greyhounds are either raced to death or killed at the hands of the greyhound racing industry. It is estimated that around 10,000 greyhounds are killed before they even make it onto the track as they are "not good enough" to race. When they finally do make it on to the track it is believed that more than 10% are racing with injures such as muscle tears or arthritis. Many dogs retire at a very early age, very few manage to find a good home afterwards. Instead many dogs are either abandoned or killed.

There are many greyhound stadiums struggling at the moment but there are also plans to reopen many tracks including Towcester and Oxford. As long as there are rich business men and punters that don't know the cruelties of greyhound racing, greyhounds will continue to suffer. One way to help stop this is to convince the government to put a total ban on racing. Please sign and share this petition and if you can help local groups protest at stadiums that are still open. The greyhounds need YOU.

Please tell the UK Government that this cruelty does not have a place in British society.
