Stop the Brutal Slaughter of Dolphins in Japan!

We have obtained shocking footage of the dolphin hunts in Taiji, Japan. The film you will see here shows a brutal method used to kill dolphins. Independent experts have confirmed it is a long, slow death and doesn’t meet even the lowest standards applied to slaughterhouses.

The hunters want to keep their actions secret. They pull a curtain across the cove and after ramming a metal rod into the dolphin’s head, they plug the wound with a piece of wood to stop the blood flowing out into the water. Hundreds of dolphins die every year in these hunts from trauma and blood loss.

Those not killed are sold for large amounts of money and flown to marine parks – this profit finances the slaughter. Japan Airlines and Air China have transported these dolphins in recent years.

Help us stop the killing - watch and share our video and sign our petition.

Tell Japan Airlines and Air China to stop transporting dolphins.
Dear Japan Airlines/Air China

Every year, in Taiji, Japan, thousands of dolphins and small whales are slaughtered for meat or kept alive for sale to aquaria across the globe. The demand for live dolphins from the aquarium industry serves as an economic stimulus for the hunts to continue as live animals are worth a great deal more money than those slaughtered. Shipments of these animals to international destinations are undertaken by air and it is our understanding that your airline has recently carried live dolphins captured in these cruel drive hunts.

[Your comments will be inserted here.]

We therefore call on you to refuse to carry any further live dolphins captured in the wild, and especially those captured in drive hunts, and develop a policy against such practices.

Sincerely,
