ABSENT PARENT'S IN PRISON

I'm a single parent of 4 kids, which 3 of them I am not receiving support with due to the father is in prison. I'm starting this petition because I feel that just because the absent parent of some kids are incarcerated

that should not exclude them from having to pay support for their kids. If the parent have an open child support case, the absent parent that's incarcerated should be mandated by the court systems or judge to work while in prison, It shouldn't be a choice it should be part of their sentencing and those funds that's being earned should be awarded to the single parent as child support payments. In cases like mines were the absent parent has been sentences to 20 years in prison, what's the odds of me receiving any type of support and the state I live don't offer wages for prisoners to work so I will never receive any support for my kids, but for the states that does, why should the absent parent be let off the hook so easily. They should be made to work to still support their kids. I feel it isn't fair that the state gives them all these different resources to improve them self while being incarcerated but don't make it mandatory to support their kids. They get to eat free, don't have to pay any bills, have the option to get schooling and also the option to work to earn a little money but they don't make it mandatory for that money to go to their kids to support them. I know it's not much of nothing but it will help. In some states the prison don't pay for them working but for the ones that do, I feel that it should be law that the wages earned goes to the single parent. I know it's lots of single parents both women and men that may feel the same, so let's try to make a difference. Sign the petition and let's make a change!
