Stop Owner Fees for Builders Violations

Recently the Planning Commission Office has contacted/notified property owners in the Miller Springs subdivision of claims of Setback Encroachments and Permit Violations.  They have specifically stated violations as a "result of decks, covered porches, and other similar additions being constructed onto dwellings and/or fences over 5 feet in height being installed on the property".  These notices state that these constructed properties and/or additions to properties have been completed without approved Zoning Compliance Permits.

Some of these notifications were sent to property owners as late as November 2012 and state the property owners must respond within seven (7) days of the date of the notice while at the same time they are disregarding the extremely late notice given by the Planning Commission Office for properties that have been completed for multiple years.  These notices also include a permit form, required documentation and a permit fee for said violations.

The property owners of Miller Springs Subdivision respectfully deny any wrongdoing in violating permits for any construction or building to property's that were completed by a builder not including the property owner.  Said properties were inspected before, during and after completion of and the selling of the property.  Therefore, any violations made by the builder are the sole responsibility of the BUILDER and/or INSPECTOR of such property.
