Bill Everett, creator of ZanyFish and Keeper of the Reef...
After a thirty-four year career as a businessman, I retired and started
an art career at the age of 56. Beginning with a watercolor workshop in
1990, I have studied under Judi Betts, Tony Van Hasselt, Frank
Webb, Bill Ternes, Al Brouillette and other pros from whom I have
learned more and more about not only the
technical aspects of painting but also the enjoyment of the process as a
part of living the happy life!
Each of my teachers have given me part of their life experience which
has been invaluable to me.
"Zany Fish"... my fish often reflect human personalities and characters I have seen or known. I
enjoy making people happier... my fish often do just that (when I am lucky!). The world needs more laughter and joy!
I enjoy painting landscapes, village scenes, Mexican market places and
tropical subjects in addition to
the "zany fish" series (which is also offered on my website
zanyfish.com as a line
of casual clothing and limited edition prints).
All pretax profits from ZanyFish.Com go to assist the work of three
local charities: The Women's Shelter of Arlington, Texas, the Arlington
Night Shelter and the Women's Center of Tarrant County, Texas. So my
art is
dedicated to helping others achieve a better life while I selfishly get
to enjoy the creation of the "doodles"
that bring me joy. A win-win deal!
I enjoy: people with a good sense of humor, old folks, little kids,
finding new places to explore and the
blessings of this life afforded to us by Our Great Maker and Builder of
the Universe.
