What kind of work or accomplishments have you done with your artwork? I have been a freelance illustrator and graphic designer for about two decades. From painting matte paintings for a movie, to point of sale displays for Coke to web design and interactive CDroms, editorial illustration, maps, charts, etc. Advertising agencies for years and most recently, five years with the Atlanta Journal and Constitution newspaper art department.

Have you won any awards for your artwork? I won first place for information graphics last year from the Georgia Press Association. It was for a large illustration about the Chattahoochee river basin which I built in modelling clay.

Why the interest in Flash Animations? I have waited years for the chance to make my illustrations come alive. Many years of musical interest, radio, audio and dramatic experience are now all finally married together with my art. Oh, and I get to do it all in this little box in front of me.

How many years have you been pursuing art? Forever. Since I was 15. About 22 years.

What year were you born and where? 1962. Nottingham, England. However, my father was an entomologist and zoologist and we lived in Africa, Central and South America for most of my life.

Do you do this full time, and if not, what else do you do? I'm beginning to do this full time which would be ideal. But I also produce other web design and illustration entirely off-site. I also do at least one editorial illustration a week for the Atlanta Journal & Constitution newspaper.

Has anyone been a particular inspiration to you in pursuing art? My secondary school (high school) art teacher, several artist friends and Tom Adams, a older British illustrator who taught me more in a 7 months than 4 years of college ever could.

What is your goal with your artwork? I want to support my family with my skills and make enough to travel around the world whenever we can. I am now in the position with the experience and skills to accept only the work I enjoy, but I have definitely paid my dues. I also spent too many years working for major corporations who I hated for their environmental records, so I'm enjoying a new found freedom where perhaps I can still save the world with my art.

Did you ever have any formal training in art? Yes, a year's foundation course in art and design followed by a three year degree in "Visual Studies". But I quit at the beginning of my third year to work on the movie "Lifeforce" for 7 months.

What are the most compelling reasons to visit your site? I suppose probably the fact that less than a year ago, I took my family away from the Atlanta smog and found a way to live in the Ozarks, far from the madding crowd, pollution and crime. It continues to be a true test daily, but we are so much healthier for it and its all possible because of the power of the internet. Within a few months we will be completely off the grid enjoying this protected land trust and some of the most beautiful countryside I have ever seen in the world. My web site has a link to pages full of photos and QTVRs. Updated fairly regularly. I also have other interesting links worth a wander when anyone has few moments.
