Support of local farms is very important to me, and the Red Stick Farmers Market provides a venue for Louisiana growers to sell directly to the public. I like being able to ask the farmers questions about their produce, meats, goods, and getting knowledgeable, first hand information. I also enjoy the interior space with locally-owned eateries and crafts and the monthly extension of exterior arts and crafts to the market. I enjoy visiting the website and receiving news feeds with photos from the farms. I appreciate that when I go to Red Stick Farmers Market, I know where my food has been!

The Red Stick Farmers Market is genuinely diverse in terms of food and vendors, accessible to anyone due to its location downtown, fresh, local, and truly important to Louisiana's health, economy and well-being. If you are what you eat, then I am proud to shop for my food at The Red Stick Farmers Market.

The Red Stick Farmers Market is more to me than simply a place to buy healthy local foods. It's a soothing experience. Nothing relieves stress and takes your mind off the work week better than biking with friends to the farmers market, finding an uncommon fruit or dish to eat for lunch, talking to the vendors about what they love to grow, learning new ways to cook from the demonstrations, and seeing all of the positive energy radiate from everyone there. It is, without a doubt, the best way to spend a Saturday.

I find it amazing that i can keep the produce that i buy at the market for more than 2 weeks in the frig. The same produce from the supermarket would last less than a week. Also, i grew up with chicken feet being used in chicken soup and am so happy that i can buy them now at the market. And i have even used them alone to make stock! oh and what about the shrimp and the softshells and the stuffed crabs? they all make their way to my sons whenever i visit him out-of-state. and finally, i feel very, very happy that have made wonderful friends with the vendors. thank you all

Buying fresh produced from local farmers is the only way to go, without our farmers, we have nothing but manufactured food, farmers and their products are the heart of this country and it must live on.
